Eikons in Final Fantasy 16 possess the power of various Elements. Bahamut, the Eikon of Light, uses energy bolts and beams as his devastating attacks, capable of burning and tearing through enemies. With this immense power, Bahamut is undoubtedly a formidable Eikon. Clive gains access to Bahamut's abilities after acquiring his power.
One of Bahamut's formidable attacks in Final Fantasy 16 is Gigaflare, an energy beam that can pierce through enemies, inflicting significant damage. However, if an enemy manages to dodge the beam and counterattack while Clive is using Gigaflare, he becomes vulnerable. Hence, strategic positioning is crucial when utilizing Gigaflare in combat.
How to Use Gigaflare
Gigaflare, Bahamut's most formidable attack, is accessible to Clive, but it comes with a hefty AP cost. Unlocking it requires 2730 AP, upgrading it costs an additional 3250 AP, and mastering it requires an additional 6000 AP. This attack takes the form of an energy beam, which can be controlled by the right stick after it is fired. This allows players to concentrate on a single target or sweep the beam to hit multiple opponents. Additionally, the beam has the ability to penetrate enemies, making it possible to strike an entire line of foes with proper positioning.
Similar to other high-cost Eikonic abilities, Gigaflare inflicts devastating damage and can be utilized on staggered enemies. This takes advantage of the damage multiplier and enables the execution of the Eikonic Punishment technique. Furthermore, it proves immensely effective when facing groups of enemies. By strategically positioning oneself and directing the beam after it is unleashed, multiple adversaries can be caught in the attack.
If, by any chance, the adversaries happen to be clustered closely or, better yet, formed in a straight line, the performance of the weapon would be exceptionally impressive. This desired positioning can often be achieved through a brief adjustment and alignment of the enemies prior to unleashing the beam. A strategic approach for players could involve incapacitating a larger opponent and then repositioning Clive so that the beam passes through said opponent, subsequently affecting weaker adversaries in the vicinity, ultimately maximizing the efficiency of the attack.
As stated earlier, it is not recommended to use Gigaflare when there are adversaries positioned behind Clive, as they can strike him and potentially interrupt the attack prematurely. However, players have the option to cancel the beam early by pressing the circle button, enabling them to resume normal dodging and attacking if necessary. It should be noted that this will result in less damage compared to firing the beam for its entire duration.
