The death of Mr. Big in season 1 of And Just Like That may have occurred, but the remaining characters are still grappling with the aftermath in season 2. According to Sarita Choudhury, who plays Seema Patel on AJLT, the storyline of Big's death unfolds in unexpected ways, affecting even the seemingly put-together Carrie Bradshaw. Despite appearing ready to move on, there are moments where Carrie's vulnerability is revealed, surprising both Choudhury and the audience.
According to Choudhury, the most heart-wrenching moment in the first season of And Just Like That was the death of Mr. Big, which left Carrie mourning her husband's tragic passing due to a Peloton workout accident. Choudhury added that she had never seen such a profound expression of grief from the character before. The departure of actor Chris Noth, due to sexual misconduct allegations he denies, preceded the loss of the beloved character.

Carrie traveled to Paris at the end of AJLT season 1 to scatter Big's ashes, where their on-off romance initially reignited in the HBO drama. In season 2, she is expected to move on with her former flame Aidan Shaw (John Corbett), as evidenced by their PDA-packed photos from the set and teaser trailer. Although Corbett's return and renewed romance will undoubtedly satisfy Team Aidan fans, Choudhury acknowledges that it won't be a simple matter of picking up where they left off.
According to the Evil Eye actress, Aidan and Carrie have undergone some changes which make them different from before. Hence, the question of whether fans will be satisfied with their characters almost becomes irrelevant. What will be intriguing for the audience is to get to know who they are now and whether they will like them. Apart from their story, the upcoming season of And Just Like That will showcase the development of other love stories as well. Choudhury expressed her desire for Seema to find The One in the upcoming episodes.
Choudhury admitted, "At first, I hesitated when you asked me about her relationship goals. I was afraid it would mean sacrificing some of the fun we have together. However, deep down, I am truly interested in getting to know her on a more intimate level and seeing her true self when she is completely relaxed."
In And Just Like That, Seema, portrayed by Choudhury, connects with Carrie through their shared love for fashion and navigating the New York City dating scene at their age. Choudhury believes that the show's portrayal of mature characters experiencing sexual mishaps and overcoming rejection will encourage viewers to step out of their comfort zones and embrace life's challenges.
And Just Like That season 2 premieres on MAX Thursday, June 22.
