Mark Ballas and his wife BC Jean have become parents, officially welcoming their first child together. The couple shared the news of their baby boy's arrival on Instagram on December 5, one month after the birth. Ballas captioned a photo of himself and Jean holding the baby's hand, "Welcome to Earth my son, Banksi Wylde Ballas 11/5/23."
The Dancing With the Stars alum and the “I’ll Survive You” songstress shared their pregnancy news via Instagram Reel in June.
"We've been busy creating new music, celebrating birthdays, enjoying trips to Disneyland, and taking time to relax at the beach," the text in the video reel disclosed as it showcased various moments of the couple. "And on top of all that, we're excited to announce that we're expecting a little one. Coming soon."
The announcement of their upcoming arrival came three months after Ballas announced his retirement from DWTS. Although he had left the show after season 25, he made a comeback for season 31 in 2022 and ultimately claimed victory with partner Charli D’Amelio.
"I've completed 20 seasons. I began this journey when I was 21, 22, and truly, being able to dance and perform for you, the fans – you are the best fans," the Emmy nominee shared during the final stop of the Dancing With the Stars tour in Las Vegas in March.
As he made the announcement, Ballas gave special shout-outs to several loved ones, including his wife.
"My mother, father, and wife are all here tonight," he announced. "I want to express that this will be the final time you witness me dance in this context. Tonight marks the end. This is the conclusion of my dancing journey."
Even though the choreographer is moving on from his DWTS days, a number of his peers from the reality competition show have played a significant role in his and Jean's romance. Derek Hough even had the honor of being Ballas' best man at their wedding in 2016.
"Witnessing the sealing of their love under a magnificent Oak tree in the presence of family and friends was a truly unforgettable moment," Hough shared on Instagram.
Since getting married, Ballas and Jean, who first met at a singer-songwriter night in 2012 hosted by a mutual friend, have consistently expressed their admiration for each other.
