Mariska Hargitay and her daughter Amaya had a heartwarming moment at the premiere of the Taylor Swift: Eras Tour movie.
On Wednesday, October 11, the 59-year-old Law & Order: SVU star walked the red carpet at The Grove in Los Angeles with her husband Peter Hermann and their children. Hargitay looked stylish in an orange coat with fringe details on the sleeves, while Amaya rocked a puffy tulle dress, a leather jacket, and combat boots. The mother and daughter held hands and embraced each other while posing for pictures.
The concert film had initially been scheduled to have its global premiere on Friday, October 13th. However, Taylor Swift pleasantly surprised her most dedicated Spotify listeners with an advanced screening. Swift herself became the center of attention as she graced the event's carpet, flaunting a stunning blue Oscar de la Renta gown and a stylish short haircut.
While Hargitay, whose character Detective Olivia Benson serves as the inspiration behind Swift's feline companion Olivia's name, usually opts for keeping her children's lives private, she made a rare exception. The entire Hargitay family made a memorable appearance together on the red carpet during a gala event in May.
Hargitay looked stunning in a flowing mint green dress, while Amaya rocked a floral ensemble. Hermann, on the other hand, chose a classy suit. August went for a casual look with a navy blue T-shirt and light blue layer, while Andrew sported a dark jacket.
In 2018, Hargitay candidly discussed the challenges of being a working mother in an exclusive interview with We. "It's not easy, it's hard," she admitted. "I'm learning to find balance. I make a conscious effort to be fully present in each moment. When I'm at work, I'm fully focused on work. And when I'm with my kids, I give them my undivided attention."

Hargitay expressed her admiration for her 56-year-old husband and acknowledged his unwavering support when it comes to their children. "I am incredibly fortunate to have an amazing support system in my husband. Being an actor himself, he truly comprehends," she shared. "The children frequently visit me on set. I have managed to adjust my schedule in order to have more flexibility. I feel blessed to have a strong foundation behind me."
Despite the occasional tears and longing to see her children, the Emmy winner continues to have a passion for her work. After two decades, she describes her time on SVU as a well-coordinated operation, allowing her to attend to her parental duties whenever necessary.
Although the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes have caused a delay in Season 25 of SVU, Hargitay is committed to returning for her milestone 25th year.
