Maren Morris apparently concealed her separation from Ryan Hurd in plain view.
On October 2, we verified that Morris, 33, initiated divorce proceedings, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the cause of their separation after five years of marriage. Shortly thereafter, Morris performed a special concert in Chicago to celebrate her new EP, The Bridge, noticeably without wearing her wedding ring.
"Chicago, you completely sold out our first fan club show in just one minute. Throughout that entire hour, you stood by my side, supporting me with your screams and tears as I performed both the familiar favorites and some unexpected songs. I was compelled to stay with you, as you continuously remind me of the purpose behind my music," she shared on Instagram on October 5. "It will be a challenge to surpass the unforgettable experience we had in Chicago, but I chose this city for a very significant and memorable reason."

On Wednesday, October 11, she made another public appearance at the premiere of Taylor Swift's concert movie, "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour," held at The Grove in Los Angeles. Despite looking glamorous in a shiny leather mini dress, the country singer once again did not wear her ring.
Prior to their separation, Morris and Hurd, aged 36, openly showcased their love for each other. They first met during a writing session back in 2013, but it wasn't until two years later that they began dating. The couple got engaged in 2017, and Us magazine was the first to report on their wedding ceremony a year later.
Morris later contemplated the impact of embarking on a 2018 tour on their marital bond.
"It was undeniably the most challenging phase of our relationship. Following our honeymoon, I immediately embarked on an extensive tour, opening for Niall Horan," she revealed to Esquire in 2019. "It entailed an unprecedented level of international touring for me. I was away for longer durations than on any previous tour."
Morris labeled that period as a challenging summer, prompting the couple to seek therapy jointly.
"We have become much closer because we had to make difficult choices and engage in challenging conversations about our future and how we can enhance it," she expressed during that period. "I have always had love for him, but I now feel an affection for him in ways I never imagined possible."
In 2020, Morris and Hurd welcomed their son Hayes, adding to their growing family. Hurd has publicly expressed his admiration for Morris and her unwavering commitment to their child. Taking to Instagram in May 2022, Hurd lovingly wished Morris a happy Mother's Day, acknowledging her role as Hayes' beautiful mother. He further emphasized their gratitude in being part of her life, highlighting the delightful adventures their son experiences and expressing their unconditional love for her.
Morris, on the other hand, turned to social media to express her excitement about their personal and professional achievements.
"I simply can't fathom performing last night's show without you," she wrote as the caption for an Instagram Story in 2022. Accompanying the post was a video clip of their unexpected duet at her headline concert in Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl. "The phrase 'I can't love you any more than I do now' is simply untrue because I am certain that tomorrow my love for you will only grow stronger."
