Kizaru has also performed exceptionally well, managing to outsmart Luffy on multiple occasions. Although the current state of the fight seems evenly matched, Luffy has the potential to gain an advantage by utilizing one of his most powerful weapons: Conqueror's Haki. Fans are aware of the dangerous nature of this Haki, yet Luffy seems reluctant to use it in the present situation for some unknown reason.

The Power of Conqueror's Haki

Conqueror's Haki, a rare and innate form of Haki in the One Piece universe, sets itself apart from the other two forms of Haki, Color of Arms and Color of Observation. Unlike those two, which can be accessed and learned by anyone, Conqueror's Haki is a gift bestowed upon an individual at birth.

This extraordinary power is possessed by a mere one in a million people, and only they have the potential to tap into it when pushed to their limits. Luffy began harnessing the abilities of Conqueror's Haki during his journey to Sabaody. It surfaced once more on Amazon Lily, gradually awakening within him. The Paramount War witnessed him exhibiting this astounding ability once more, thus throwing himself into the spotlight as a prime target for the World Government.

Thanks to Rayleigh, Luffy acquired the ability to control his power. Within 18 months of training with Rayleigh, he learned the fundamentals of Haki and made further progress in just six more months. After the timeskip, Luffy continued to utilize his abilities, and it was during the battle against Kaido in Wano that he discovered an advanced application of Conqueror's Haki.

This power allows individuals to enhance both their offensive and defensive capabilities by coating themselves. With this power, Luffy reached a level where he could confront Kaido on equal grounds. By combining it with Gear 5, he even managed to overcome the Yonko. However, in his current fight against Kizaru, Luffy is inexplicably not employing this power.

Luffy Vs Kizaru So Far

The fans have been thrilled by the exhilarating battle between these two characters thus far. At the start, Luffy unleashed his formidable Snakeman, but it proved insufficient to take on Kizaru. Despite landing numerous blows and earning the admiration of the Marine Admiral, Luffy realized that the Pika Pika no Mi user's intense powers could not be overcome with Gear 4: Snakeman.

Kizaru swiftly delivered a devastating kick, charging it by flying away from the island and attacking at the speed of light. The outcome was Luffy being completely blinded and forcefully propelled through the Frontier Dome. Realizing that Gear 4 was inadequate against a Marine Admiral, Luffy promptly switched to his Gear 5 form, pushing the fight to new heights. In the previous chapter, fans observed Luffy's sheer enjoyment in battling Kizaru. He hurled him across the island and even clashed with his light clones. Luffy unleashed powerful assaults and even consumed Kizaru's light, yet strangely, he refrained from utilizing his Haki abilities, leaving fans puzzled.

Why Luffy Isn't Using Conqueror's Haki Vs. Kizaru

Luffy's decision not to rely on the Color of the Supreme King during his fight against Kizaru is unexpected. In his battle with Kaido, it was evident that he utilized both his Color of Arms Haki and Conqueror's Haki, as demonstrated by his Haki-coated hands and the production of lightning sparks. Kaido himself acknowledged Luffy's imaginative combat style, which heavily relies on both Armament and Conqueror's Haki. However, there is no indication of him using the Color of the Supreme King against Kizaru.

The reason for this omission is simply that Luffy does not see the need to employ this power in the current situation. He is confident that he can handle Kizaru without it. Gear 5 remains his preferred technique moving forward. Luffy tapped into this power because it provides a significant boost and also contributes to the narrative, as it was necessary to awaken the Iron Giant with the Drums of Liberation.

Using the Color of the Supreme King with Snakeman, Luffy could have potentially held off Kizaru without needing to enter Gear 5. However, this would have inhibited the progression of the plot, as the Iron Giant would not have awakened. On the other hand, if Luffy had used Gear 5 alongside the Color of the Supreme King, Kizaru would have been swiftly defeated in one chapter, diminishing the tension of the story. For the sake of maintaining the strength of the Color of the Supreme King and Gear 5, it was crucial for Kizaru to put up a fight against Luffy, even when both skills were utilized. All things considered, Oda decided that the best course of action was for Luffy to only use one of his powers at that particular moment.

However, this does not mean that Luffy will not use Conqueror's Haki as the fight progresses. There is still much that Kizaru has not revealed to the fans, including the intriguing power of Devil Fruit Awakening. If Kizaru elevates the battle by employing his Devil Fruit Awakening, Luffy will have to raise his own powers to another level and potentially unleash the Color of the Supreme King. This would further intensify the already exciting fight and enhance the Egghead Island arc.
