The Astounding Find
A lucky Pokemon GO player has found a particularly impressive Shadow Dratini, boasting impressive stats before the Pokemon has been purified. The massively popular monster-catching mobile game from Niantic offers players multiple different ways to assess their in-game creatures, helping players to build the best Pokemon parties for Raids and PvP battles. Alongside the standard Combat Power displayed for all Pokemon, each creature's HP, Attack, and Defense stats can vary, allowing some Pokemon to excel in certain areas. One lucky player recently found a particularly impressive version of one of the game's Shadow Pokemon.
Shadow Pokemon are special creatures within Pokemon GO, not able to be found in the wild within the mobile game. Players are only able to acquire Shadow Pokemon through special Raids or capturing them after defeating a member of Team GO Rocket. Purifying a Shadow Pokemon also grant special perks to trainers looking to raise their hard-earned Pokemon, offering reduced Stardust costs for leveling and increased IVs. However, not many Pokemon GO players can claim to have captured a Shadow Pokemon already boasting perfect IVs.
Reddit user Jealous-Passenger-40 shared their impressive find on the Pokemon GO subreddit, showing off their spectacular Shadow Pokemon. The Shadow Dratini already boasts perfect IVs with maxed out HP, Attack, and Defense values immediately after being caught. The impressive stats notably come before the Shadow Pokemon has been purified, a rare feat when Shadow Pokemon usually feature lower multipliers on their Defense stat. The Shadow Dratini also boasts an already high Combat Power value with 373 CP as a first-stage evolution.

Implications for the Pokemon GO Community
The impressive Shadow Dratini should look to provide a major boost to the Reddit user's Pokemon GO team once it is fully evolved into a Dragonite. Pokemon GO is rumored to be featuring another event surrounding Pokemon Sun & Moon's Ultra Beasts in January, with Stakataka and Blacephalon expected to make their Pokemon GO debut. Both Pokemon will likely debut as Raid Pokemon within Pokemon GO, tasking trainers with teaming up to take down the imposing creatures. January will also bring Pokemon GO's next Community Day, starring Alolan starter Rowlet.
Pokemon GO's newest season, Timeless Travels, has added a plethora of new content to the Pokemon mobile game for fans to enjoy. The season focuses around the Hisui region featured in Pokemon Legends: Arceus with the Hisui-exclusive Wyrdeer making its first appearance within Pokemon GO. The update also brought with it several new Hisui variants of pre-existing Pokemon like Sneasel, Decidueye, and Typhlosion. Reddit user Jealous-Passenger-40's impressive Shadow Dratini should make a valuable addition to their team for clearing Pokemon GO's upcoming content.
