Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may be new to their romance, but Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid has had a long-standing connection with the pop superstar. In a recent interview on Donovan McNabb's "The Five Spot" podcast, Reid, 65, revealed that he had known Swift since her early years in Philadelphia, thanks to her father being a devoted NFL fan.
Reid, the former coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, was the favorite NFL team of the Swift family (and the home team of Travis' brother, Jason Kelce). However, Swift has been supporting the Chiefs since she started dating Travis, 34, earlier this autumn.
"I joked about setting Kelce up, but that's all I'm saying," Reid added, acknowledging his delight in having Swift, 33, in the Chiefs box. "She's a wonderful person, she's passionate about it. We're happy she's here."
Swift has become a regular presence at Chiefs games recently, including the team's October 12 home game against the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium. However, Reid is not the only one jokingly taking credit for introducing her to Travis. Erin Andrews, a sportscaster, revealed on her "Calm Down" podcast in August that she encouraged a romance between the two.
"Travis was disappointed that he didn't get to meet her at the Eras Tour," Andrews, 45, shared during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers on October 16. "Since we are good friends of his, we were very open and candid, telling Taylor to date this guy."

Andrews jokingly mentioned that she and cohost Charissa Thompson are now receiving all the recognition, as Travis and Swift were spotted together a month after Andrews mentioned them on her podcast. Andrews added, "We even hope to be there when he proposes and officiate the wedding."
In a subtle tribute to Andrews, Swift attended the Chiefs game last week wearing a team jacket from Andrews' WEAR line. Andrews had previously shared that she had sent Swift some Chiefs merchandise from her brand, with the hope that she would wear it to a game - and her plan succeeded.
"I really pray that she chooses to wear one of the items we have sent her," Andrews expressed to Variety in a recent interview. "Her fans have an incredible influence and are constantly seeking to be connected with whatever she's involved with. I personally find it incredibly intriguing."
In the meantime, the jacket is currently out of stock but can be reserved for future preorders.
