Leah McSweeney, former cast member of The Real Housewives of New York City, expressed her disapproval of Andy Cohen for making jokes about Princess Kate Middleton’s health. McSweeney, 41, shared her thoughts on Instagram Story on Friday, March 22. She stated, “Andy Cohen seems to enjoy being unkind to women, and unfortunately, Kate Middleton was not spared from his remarks.” McSweeney hopes that Cohen will apologize to Middleton after she publicly disclosed her cancer diagnosis.
She continued, “People with power need to lead by example.”
Kate, 42, confirmed earlier on Friday that she had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer.
Kate shared in a video from Kensington Palace that she had undergone a major abdominal surgery in London in January. Initially, it was believed that her condition was non-cancerous. Although the surgery went well, further tests revealed the presence of cancer. As a result, her medical team recommended preventive chemotherapy, which she has recently started.

Kate's video was shared after much curiosity surrounding the princess' health and location. In January, the palace announced that Kate had surgery, sparking widespread speculation about the surgery and her recovery.
Cohen, aged 55, has been involved in spreading various rumors, such as suggesting that Kate used a body double for a recent Windsor outing and fueling speculation about Prince William having an affair with Rose Hanbury. (William, aged 41, has been married to Kate since 2011 and has never addressed any alleged affair. Hanbury has denied the accusations.)
As of now, Cohen has not publicly responded to the accusations made by McSweeney on Friday or the news about Kate's battle with cancer. The host of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, who was previously a guest on Meghan Markle's "Archetypes" podcast, is currently entangled in a legal dispute with McSweeney.
McSweeney filed a lawsuit in February against Cohen, Bravo, its parent company NBCUniversal, and some Real Housewives producers. She alleged that the network deliberately exploited her battle with alcoholism. Additionally, she claimed that Cohen showed favoritism towards Housewives who partied with him.
Cohen strongly refuted the allegations. His representative stated in February, "The accusations against Andy are entirely untrue."
Other Real Housewives franchise stars have also defended Cohen, prompting a response from McSweeney’s team.
According to McSweeney’s lawyer, Gary Adelman, more lawsuits are on the way and more individuals will come forward with their stories. Adelman emphasized that what truly matters is how the law views the situation, regardless of public opinion on Cohen's character or behavior.
Editor's P/S:
It is disheartening to learn of Andy Cohen's alleged unkind remarks towards Princess Kate Middleton, especially amidst her recent cancer diagnosis. Cohen's platform and influence should be used responsibly, yet his actions seem to disregard the sensitivity and respect due to Middleton's health situation. His past involvement in spreading rumors and fueling speculation further raises concerns about his judgment and ethics.
Leah McSweeney's public criticism of Cohen highlights the importance of holding individuals with power accountable. Her call for an apology and Cohen's need to lead by example underscore the responsibility of those in the public eye to treat others with compassion and dignity. The legal dispute between McSweeney and Cohen adds another layer to this situation, suggesting that Cohen's actions may have wider implications beyond the current allegations.
