Batman: Arkham Knight has received a surprise DLC update featuring Robert Pattinson's costume from The Batman, adding a new dimension to the game.
The update is currently exclusive to the Epic Games Store, giving players the opportunity to play as Pattinson's Batman and venture through Gotham City. Although the DLC's release timing suggests it may have been planned to align with the initial launch of the forthcoming Batman: Arkham Trilogy, it is uncertain whether the costume will be accessible on other platforms.
Batman: Arkham Knight recently received an unexpected DLC update, eight years after its release, which includes Robert Pattinson's costume from The Batman. Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham trilogy is renowned for its captivating gameplay, gripping atmosphere, and impressive voice performances, particularly from Mark Hamill and the late Kevin Conroy, alongside a talented cast. Acting as a finale to Rocksteady's saga at the time, the 2015 game Batman: Arkham Knight showcased the Dark Knight's final battle against the Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight, as he fought to save Gotham City.
The addition of Arkham Knight enhanced the already successful formula of the previous Batman: Arkham games. Most notably, players could now control the Batmobile, allowing them to solve puzzles and navigate the expansive open world of Gotham. The game also offered an extensive array of alternate Batsuits as DLC, drawing inspiration from Batman's various appearances in comics, television shows, and movies. While players typically had to purchase these outfits, Rocksteady has pleasantly surprised Batman: Arkham fans by providing a free DLC inspired by the Dark Knight's most recent cinematic venture.
Fans of Batman: Arkham Knight are excitedly sharing screenshots of a new character skin based on Robert Pattinson's armored appearance in The Batman film. This alternate suit, which resembles the Tenet star, has been making waves among players, even though there hasn't been an official announcement from Rocksteady. Currently, the update featuring the new suit is only available on the Epic Games Store. Some fans speculate whether the release of The Batman DLC suit was intended to coincide with the launch of Batman: Arkham Knight on the Nintendo Switch as part of the Batman: Arkham Trilogy collection. Originally planned for a fall release, the collection was delayed to ensure a polished experience on the Switch, much to the disappointment of fans who were already frustrated by a similar delay for next year's Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
The Rocksteady team had likely intended to release the newly unveiled Robert Pattinson suit from The Batman alongside the Batman: Arkham Trilogy. However, the suit was prematurely made available on the Epic Games Store. Regardless, the exclusive Batman: Arkham Knight suit can currently only be found on the Epic Store. Nevertheless, it is highly probable that it will soon be released on other platforms such as Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, especially now that fans have witnessed Pattinson's portrayal of the Caped Crusader in action within the streets of Gotham.
Batman: Arkham Knight is currently accessible on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Additionally, the release of Batman: Arkham Trilogy for Nintendo Switch is scheduled for December 1.
