What DCEU Movies Are And Aren't Streaming On Netflix
However, despite eight of them transitioning to Netflix, not all the DCEU films will be making the move. The ones excluded from the Warner Bros. Discovery and Netflix deal are Aquaman, Shazam!, Zack Snyder's Justice League, Black Adam, Shazam!: Fury of the Gods, The Flash, and Blue Beetle (which has yet to be released on Max). It makes sense for Zack Snyder's Justice League to remain where it is since it first premiered as a Max Original.
However, it's strange that Aquaman, the Shazam! films, Black Adam, and The Flash, which have strong ties to the DCEU, were not included in the deal at all. If the goal was to provide a new home for the DCEU on a larger platform, it is questionable to exclude important parts of the story. It wouldn't be surprising if these films eventually make their way to Netflix, whether in 2024 or through a revised deal before December 1.
Despite Netflix offering increased visibility for the eight confirmed DCEU movies, executing these moves at this particular juncture is undeniably unideal, considering the franchise's imminent conclusion in December. The DCEU has experienced a range of successes and failures since its inception, and unfortunately, 2023 proved to be quite detrimental with both Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash turning out to be box office disappointments. Nonetheless, only time will reveal whether the new DC Universe can surpass the achievements of the DCEU.
