Highlights

Baldur's Gate 3 has experienced multiple issues since its launch, prompting Larian Studios to release hotfixes to address bugs and balance issues.

Hotfix #4 was reverted and reissued as a result of a build error that resulted in crashes and deprived players from accessing their saved data.

Larian is currently endeavoring to enhance their deployment process for forthcoming patches and is striving to unveil a significant update prior to the launch of the PS5 version on September 6. Larian has maintained transparency and effective communication regarding the encountered issues.

Baldur's Gate 3 has recently released a new hotfix following numerous issues that have arisen since its launch. With millions of players exploring the game's complex gameplay systems, unforeseen problems are inevitable. However, it appears that the latest hotfix may have been rushed, requiring Larian Studios to retract it and issue it again for necessary adjustments.

Less than 24 hours ago, Hotfix #4 for Baldur's Gate 3 was released. Like its predecessors, this hotfix dealt with a variety of bugs and balance issues reported by players. One bug involved players getting stuck during a Long Rest due to their companions not waking up. Another issue resulted in players losing their resources at the end of Act II. Although the hotfix was not urgent, it still held significant importance.

Larian has decided to revert to Hotfix #3 of Baldur's Gate 3 due to crashes caused by the latest hotfix. After approximately 24 hours, they released Hotfix #4 again, this time without the crashing issues.

During the rollback, players who saved their progress on Hotfix #4 were unable to access their saves on the Hotfix #3 version of Baldur's Gate 3. They were instructed to wait until Hotfix #4 was redeployed in order to load their saves. Now that the hotfix has been reissued, players should have no trouble accessing and playing their game.

Larian is taking a somewhat relaxed approach to hotfixes for Baldur's Gate 3, which has created some concerns due to upcoming deadlines. For instance, the PS5 version is set to release on September 6, prompting Larian to plan a major patch beforehand. To prevent a recurrence, Larian explains that it intends to change its approach to deploying updates in the future.

Although this situation may have caused frustration among Baldur's Gate 3 players, it is commendable that Larian is transparent and communicative about the issue. Despite being hailed as one of the best games ever made, Baldur's Gate 3 does suffer from a significant amount of bugs. Hopefully, Larian will deliver on its promise and thoroughly test future hotfixes.
