Lana Del Rey had an amazing performance at Coachella on Saturday, April 13, but there was some drama backstage before she went on stage.
The 38-year-old singer closed out the first weekend of the 2024 music festival by giving a heartfelt thank you to all her collaborators who performed with her that weekend - Billie Eilish, Jack Antonoff, and Jon Batiste - as well as her band members and everyone else who helped make the show a success.
The singer also made a comment about her former tour manager, who she claimed quit after 15 years for no apparent reason. She mentioned that he was upset about her receiving 10 bikes for free from stunt coordinator Wally Crowder and suddenly decided he was more of a stage designer than a tour manager. Although she did not mention his full name, she referred to him as someone named Pete.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, April 17, the singer expressed gratitude for the 15 years of work with the former tour manager. She mentioned that despite not receiving a phone call from him and unlikely to ever get one, she was thankful for the time they spent working together. She also emphasized that they were able to put together a headlining set on their own within just 37 days, which she found to be a non-stressful experience.
Tour manager Emily Holt received a heartfelt thank you for stepping up in his absence and handling everything with grace.
The artist also expressed gratitude to managers Ben and Ed for always making her laugh, even when things don't make sense. She jokingly added that if they decide to quit after 15 years, they should send her an email.

Del Rey gave a shout-out to her team members who helped with her sound, outfits, makeup, and hair.
"It was a blast," Del Rey commented on her Coachella performance. "Can't wait to see you all again soon."
She will be performing again on Saturday, April 20, during the music festival's second weekend.
In addition to dealing with the absence of her tour manager, Del Rey shared that she had been struggling with laryngitis in the days leading up to the performance. Fortunately, the illness cleared up just a few hours before she went on stage, which she credits to her clairvoyant.
Del Rey's performance at Coachella weekend one was definitely one of the more memorable moments, even with all the mishaps and drama leading up to it. It's still a hot topic of conversation.

Lana Del Rey's Coachella performance was a testament to her resilience and the power of collaboration. Despite facing challenges with her tour manager's departure and laryngitis, she delivered a heartfelt and memorable performance. Her gratitude for her team, including Billie Eilish, Jack Antonoff, and Jon Batiste, highlighted the importance of having a supportive and talented network around her.
It's also worth noting that Del Rey's comments about her former tour manager, Pete, shed light on the complexities of working relationships within the music industry. While she expressed appreciation for his past contributions, her frustration with his sudden departure and lack of communication suggests that there may have been underlying issues that led to the split. This situation underscores the importance of open communication and clear expectations within any professional partnership.
