Kyle Richards is refusing to accept any criticism amidst her divorce from Mauricio Umansky. The 54-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star hit back at an Instagram user who claimed that her posting pictures with her estranged 53-year-old husband was a way of "damage control."
“We really appreciate how Kyle handles ‘damage control’,” commented a social media user on Richards' Instagram post on Tuesday, July 11. The post showcased pictures from her family's recent trip to Aspen, Colorado. In response, Richards replied, "If you all like to overanalyze every tiny detail, then interpret this," accompanied by a middle finger emoji.
Earlier this month, we confirmed that Richards and Umansky have been separated for quite some time after being married for 27 years. "They are currently still living together," a source revealed on July 3, adding that the couple is handling the situation amicably as they navigate the next steps.
Following the news of their breakup, which will be featured on RHOBH season 13, Richards clarified on Instagram that they had not yet filed for divorce. She acknowledged that they had a challenging year in their marriage but emphasized that they still love and respect each other greatly. Richards reassured that no one is at fault in their situation. She further defended her social media posts after sharing a cryptic Instagram Story on July 7. (Richards also has another daughter, Farrah, 34, from her previous marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.)
“Parting is such sweet sorrow,” she wrote alongside a photo of trees she captured during her Colorado trip, leading many fans to believe it was a veiled reference to her and Umansky’s separation. However, she later explained that the message was actually about the melancholy of having to leave Aspen.

Richards and Umansky attended her niece Whitney Davis' Aspen wedding, showcasing their unity by posing together in a photo during a Fourth of July celebration. Umansky shared the picture on Instagram, captioning it with "Happy Independence Day. Hope everyone is having a great day," along with an Instagram slideshow that included a snapshot of the couple alongside their dog.
Shortly after, Richards addressed speculation about her relationship with her "very good friend" Morgan Wade, denying any romantic involvement.
The couple has evidently maintained a strong bond despite experiencing relationship challenges. According to a source, they have chosen to prioritize their relationship and are actively rebuilding their foundation.
In a previous interview with Us in April, Umansky acknowledged that he and Richards need to put effort into their marriage, even after being together for over twenty years. He described their marriage as remarkable and acknowledged their good fortune. Currently, both individuals have hectic schedules, but they are committed to keeping their relationship alive and working on it.
On Tuesday, Garcelle Beauvais, Richards' fellow RHOBH cast member, shared how she offered her support to her friend amidst the news of their split. According to Beauvais, 56, she simply sent a text asking, "[Are you] OK?" and received a response from Richards unexpectedly quickly. Beauvais, speaking to Page Six, mentioned that she didn't anticipate a reply for days, but was pleasantly surprised to hear that Richards was "hanging in there."
