The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is offering more insight into what went wrong in Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s marriage.

"Mau receives numerous direct messages from women, who disregard his marital status and typically make the first move," Kyle, 54, disclosed on the episode of the Bravo series that aired on January 10. "It's frustrating to realize there are many disrespectful people out there."

During the same episode, the women went to Ojai, California for a wine tasting to honor Annemarie Wiley's birthday. While enjoying lunch, the co-stars played a game and Sutton Stracke drew a card that asked, "What is considered acceptable for husbands when communicating with other women on social media?"

All the women unanimously agreed that it was unacceptable for married men to engage in such behavior online.

"I've had a disagreement with Mau about that, I can't stand it," Kyle remarked. "Liking people's photos, following others, that's not okay." (Kyle and Mauricio have often faced rumors of cheating over the years, but they have denied any instances of infidelity.)

Sutton, 52, asked, "So, what does it mean to communicate?" Kyle responded, "It's not just about DMing, that's like, no. ... But also not having to follow every single person and 'like' all their photos. I don't like that at all. Not at all."

In July 2023, we confirmed that Kyle and Mauricio, 53, had separated after 27 years of marriage. They addressed their split in a joint Instagram statement, sharing with their followers that the decision came after a "challenging year" together.

“We have immense love and respect for each other. There has been no wrongdoing on either side,” they stated. "Despite being in the public eye, we request privacy as we work through our issues."

A source revealed in November 2023 that Kyle and Mauricio had not yet sought divorce lawyers, but the ups and downs of their marriage were featured in RHOBH season 13 before they decided to end things.

In Wednesday's episode, Kyle organized an event in collaboration with the National Alliance on Mental Illness to commemorate the first anniversary of her late friend Lorene Shea's passing. (Lorene tragically died by suicide in May 2022.)

At the event, Kyle was accompanied by her four daughters - Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15, whom she shares with Mauricio, and her eldest daughter Farrah Aldjufrie from her previous marriage with Guraish Aldjufrie. Notably, Mauricio was not in attendance.

"Mau is out of town for a business trip," Kyle explained in her confessional. "A few years ago, I would have depended on him for a night like this."

Garcelle Beauvais observed that Mauricio's absence "speaks volumes about the state of [Kyle's] relationship."

Kyle also recalled Lorene telling her to “always appreciate your marriage” two days before her passing.

“I said, ‘I will,’” Kyle added. “So now that we’re having a hard time, I think I’m letting her down.”
