Kourtney Kardashian recently teased her sister Kim Kardashian about her memorable diamond earring incident. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, April 7, the 44-year-old shared a post captioned "My diamond earring came off in the ocean and it's gone."
Kourtney uploaded a picture of herself smiling while swimming at the beach. In another photo, she was seen placing her hands on her ears.
She also shared the same picture on her Instagram Story along with a message for new mothers. Kourtney recently welcomed son Rocky Thirteen with Travis Barker in November 2023. She is also a mother to son Mason, 14, daughter Penelope, 11, and son Reign, 9, whom she shares with her ex Scott Disick.
To all new moms out there, remember that your body is beautiful in every stage. Whether it's during pregnancy when we're glowing and growing, or postpartum when we're healing and shrinking, or even that challenging period when our bodies are still adjusting. And if you're breastfeeding, that's another aspect to consider. It's important to be kind to ourselves as our bodies find a new normal. The pressure to quickly bounce back after everything changes isn't realistic. Remember, life is beautiful and so are you. Just a little reminder for all of us. Xoxo.
During season 6 of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim, who was 43 at the time, had a meltdown while on a family vacation in French Polynesia. Her then-boyfriend Kris Humphries accidentally tossed her into the ocean, causing her to lose a $75,000 diamond earring.

During the episode that aired in 2011, she exclaimed, "My earring is missing! My diamond earring fell off in the ocean!" Kim started to cry, but Kourtney, coming out of her villa, responded, "Kim, there are people dying."
Even though it is one of the most memorable moments from KUWTK, Kim mentioned that she is no longer making jokes about it.
Kim expressed her frustration in a November 2023 GQ video, where she answered fan questions from social media. She mentioned how tired she was of constantly being asked about a particular moment. In the comments of a recent photo of Kim wakeboarding, a fan brought up the infamous incident.
Kim shared a story about a diamond earring incident while she was in the water. She explained that whenever she is near water, people always ask her about the lost earring. Kim revealed that it was actually Kylie Jenner who found the earring in the ocean. Kylie had dived in, put on goggles, and successfully located both the earring and its back. Kim emphasized how clear the water was in Bora Bora, where the incident took place, and reassured her followers that the earring had indeed been found.
Kim added, “It was found in 2010. If anyone’s going to Bora Bora searching for gold and diamonds, [it’s] not there.”

The Kardashian-Jenner family's public lives often provide fodder for both gossip and inspiration. Kourtney's recent post about body positivity and self-acceptance after childbirth is a reminder that even the most glamorous celebrities struggle with the physical and emotional challenges of motherhood. Her message of embracing our bodies at every stage is a refreshing antidote to the societal pressure to conform to unrealistic beauty standards.
The incident involving Kim's lost earring is a humorous anecdote that highlights the unexpected ways in which our lives can intersect with pop culture. It's a reminder that even the most embarrassing or inconvenient moments can become part of our shared cultural memory. The fact that Kylie Jenner was able to retrieve the earring is a testament to her resourcefulness and the unbreakable bond between the Kardashian-Jenner sisters.
