Khloé Kardashian has no intention of convincing her sister Kourtney Kardashian to reconsider her position on Tristan Thompson. According to a trusted source, Khloé deeply respects Kourtney's emotions and would never exert pressure on her to pursue a relationship with Tristan. However, it is disheartening for Khloé to acknowledge that the current circumstances are unfavorable. Despite her desires for a different outcome, Khloé comprehends that she has no authority over the situation.
During the November 2 episode of The Kardashians, Kourtney, aged 44, expressed feeling "triggered" whenever she sees Thompson, who was unfaithful to Khloé, aged 39, several times while they were together. Kourtney also mentioned that her 11-year-old daughter, Penelope, who she shares with her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick, feels similarly.
"I believe that Penelope takes after me in this aspect. I explained to her, right on her first day of school, how deeply affected I am by him," the founder of Poosh expressed to the cameras. "Tristan has made despicable choices and decisions when it comes to my sister. There are moments when I find myself so disturbed by him that I cannot even be around him. However, there are also times when I choose to let it go for the sake of maintaining harmony. After all, he is the father of my niece and nephew."
In light of Khloé and Thompson's tumultuous history, the insider reveals that Khloé exhibits understanding and respect towards Kourtney's emotions and the boundaries she has set with Tristan.
According to an insider, Khloé acknowledges that Kourtney's concerns stem from a place of genuine care and a strong desire to protect her. This is one of the traits that Khloé truly admires in Kourtney. She remains hopeful that with time, Kourtney will come to see things differently.
Khloé and Thompson, who had an on-again, off-again relationship between 2016 and 2021, have two children together: five-year-old daughter True and 15-month-old son Tatum. Just days before Khloé gave birth to True in 2018, news surfaced that Thompson, who was 32 at the time, had been unfaithful with multiple women.
Initially, the duo remained together following the infidelity scandal's aftermath. However, they eventually went their separate ways in February 2019 when Thompson kissed Jordyn Woods, who was Kylie Jenner's best friend at the time.
Khloé and Thompson reconciled and broke up multiple times before ultimately ending their relationship for good in late 2021. In December of that year, fitness model Maralee Nicholas filed a lawsuit against Thompson for child support. Just a month later, the athlete confirmed that he is the father of Nichols' son, Theo, who is currently 23 months old. At the same time, a surrogate was already expecting Khloé and Thompson's second child, Tatum.
Despite their previous conflicts, Khloé and Thompson have successfully maintained a friendly coparenting dynamic. Khloé does not hold Penelope responsible for her doubts and understands her perspective.
"I take pride in the progress Tristan and I have made, allowing him to fulfill his role as a father. However, my personal relationship with Tristan does not dictate how my family members should feel," Khloé expressed during a confessional on The Kardashians. "If Penelope has her reservations about Tristan, it is completely understandable. Good for you, girl."
The founder of Good American stated, "I want Penelope to experience these emotions, and I don't want to discourage her from feeling them. I don't want to support or justify this behavior. I want her to understand that her feelings are valid. We should not tolerate being treated this way."
In contrast, Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian spoke positively about Thompson on Thursday's episode, although Penelope and Kourtney struggled to get along with him.
Tristan has made errors, and he genuinely regrets the pain he inflicted on Khloé. Every day, he carries the weight of his past mistakes," Kris, 67, expressed on camera.
Speaking in a personal confession, Kim, 43, shared, "It's unbelievable because he's an exceptional friend and father, but he struggled with remaining loyal as a boyfriend."
