Kim Kardashian, the renowned star of the Kardashian family, has proven herself to be the ultimate boss. Recently, she proudly announced that her shapewear brand, Skims, achieved an impressive milestone by generating a whopping $500 million in revenue in the year 2022.

At the age of 42, Kim Kardashian is not only a fashion designer but also a prominent figure in the industry. Her accomplishments were recognized when she graced the cover of Time 100's Most Influential Companies of 2023 issue on June 20th. In her cover story, she candidly discussed the immense triumph of her loungewear brand, confessing that its financial success surpassed her wildest expectations. Despite this extraordinary achievement, Kardashian admitted to experiencing moments of self-doubt, commonly known as "impostor syndrome." Nevertheless, she acknowledged that this feeling serves as a driving force in her relentless pursuit of success.

In another part of the interview, the founder of KKW Beauty shared the origin story of Skims. According to Kardashian, it all began with her quest to find shapewear that matched her skin tone. She revealed that she used to dye her shapewear using tea bags and coffee in the bathtub. Skims now offers a collection of more than 10 skin tones and caters to sizes XXS-4X.

Initially, the company was launched by the Hulu star in September 2019 under the name Kimono. However, due to criticism of cultural appropriation, the name was swiftly changed to Skims before the official launch. While the brand initially focused solely on shapewear, it has since expanded its product range to include dresses, loungewear, swimsuits, and accessories.

In an April 2022 campaign, the businesswoman appeared in multiple photoshoots for Skims. Alongside Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum, Candice Swanepoel, and Alessandra Ambrosio, she showcased different designs from the brand. Banks looked fierce in a dark brown bodysuit, Klum posed in a nude bralette and high-cut thong, Ambrosio stunned in a light brown twisted bra and thong, and Swanepoel slayed in a nude short sleeve crop top and high-waisted underwear.

Meanwhile, Kardashian rocked a tan bralette and thong set. Taking to Instagram, she mentioned that she wasn't originally planned to be part of the SKIMS campaign but couldn't resist joining because of its iconic nature. She introduced Tyra, Heidi, Alessandra, and Candice, who were all wearing the signature SKIMS Fits Everybody collection.

Kardashian has frequently appeared in photoshoots for Skims, but she revealed in an interview with Time that she may be scaling back in the future. "I realize that as I get older, perhaps in my 50s, I won't have the desire to pose in my underwear," she confessed. The former star of "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" also expressed her intention to participate in fewer modeling campaigns annually.
