Kim Kardashian has never been one to shy away from acknowledging her faults, especially when it comes to her role as a parent. In a recent interview with Time magazine, the 42-year-old reality star delved into the challenges of navigating social media with her four children: North, 10, Saint, 7, Chicago, 5, and Psalm, 4, whom she co-parents with her ex-husband Kanye West. Reflecting on a particular incident, Kardashian admitted to second-guessing her decision to share a viral TikTok video featuring her oldest daughter and rapper Ice Spice.

Upon reading the words, her immediate reaction was, "Oh no, we need to remove this," referring to the clip where they were lip-synching to the song "Boy's a Liar, Pt. 2."

Upon its release in March, certain fans wasted no time in criticizing Kardashian for her choice of song. "I came across comments on the internet saying, 'Kanye was right,' and perhaps he was correct in that particular instance," the Hulu personality commented. "However, my daughter loves creating slime videos and doing her own hair tutorials, and I will always support her creative endeavors."

Kardashian and the Yeezy designer had been married for nearly seven years before she initiated divorce proceedings in February 2021. Their separation became increasingly contentious when West publicly criticized Kardashian on Instagram in February 2022 for allowing their daughter, North, to use TikTok without his consent. In a now-deleted post, the "Gold Digger" artist expressed his concern by sharing a screenshot from one of North's TikTok videos and questioned what actions he should take as it was his first experience with divorce.

The founder of Skims, however, publicly defended her daughter's social media activity. In February 2022, she expressed her thoughts on the matter through her Instagram Story, stating that Kanye's constant attacks on her through interviews and social media are more hurtful than any TikTok North might create. As the parent who primarily provides and cares for their children, she is committed to both protecting their daughter and allowing her to express her creativity with adult supervision in the medium of her choice, as it brings her happiness.

"Divorce already poses significant challenges for our children, and Kanye's relentless pursuit of control and manipulation in our circumstances is exacerbating the pain for everyone involved."

Kardashian and West finalized their divorce in just one month and reached an official agreement in November 2022. Despite their separation, the beauty mogul has been open about the challenges and triumphs of co-parenting with her ex. During a heartfelt interview on the "Angie Martinez IRL" podcast in December 2022, Kardashian became emotional as she discussed the dedication she has towards protecting her children from the outside world. She expressed that she continues to support West in the eyes of their kids, acknowledging that it can be overwhelming at times. She described it as a full-time job and admitted to feeling like she's holding on by a thread.

The Kardashian alum revealed that she maintains a strong facade for her children. "Even if we're going through tough times, when we're driving to school and they want to listen to their dad's music, I have to wear a smile, turn up the volume, and sing along with them," she shared. "I pretend like everything is fine, but as soon as I leave them at school, I allow myself to release my emotions and have a good cry."
