Khloé Kardashian is marking a significant milestone as she celebrates a year with Tatum, her son with ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson. In an Instagram post on Friday, July 28, the 39-year-old star of the Kardashian family expressed her gratitude to God for bringing Tatum into her life, emphasizing the profound impact he has had on her. She describes him as a source of joy, an angelic presence, and the one who provides her with a unique and unconditional love. Ultimately, Tatum is the cherished son she desperately needed in her life.
Continuing on, in July 2022, we confirmed that Kardashian and the 32-year-old Lakers athlete — who previously had a daughter, True, in April 2018 — were expecting their second child through a surrogate after Thompson's 2021 paternity scandal and their subsequent separation. Tatum was born later that month. (Thompson is also the father of two sons, Prince and Theo, whom he shares with Jordan Craig and Maralee Nichols, respectively.)
“Tatum, you have forever changed the lives of both me and True. We were both in desperate need of you,” Kardashian expressed on Friday. “I always knew you would make an incredible and adoring older sister, but I could never have fathomed the immense love and bond that already exists between you two. The resemblance between both of you and uncle [Rob Kardashian] and me is uncanny. It’s only fitting since I believe you bear a striking resemblance to him. (Which also means I see a lot of my dad in you).”
The Kardashian tribute ended with the lyrics to "You Are My Sunshine," accompanied by a collection of rare family photos featuring Tatum. In the pictures, Kardashian can be seen holding her son while spending time at home with True, 5, as well as her nieces North, 10, and Penelope, 11.

Kardashian revealed in the season 3 finale of The Kardashians that Thompson and his youngest brother, Amari, had moved in with her a day before Tatum's milestone. This came after the death of their mother, Andrea Thompson. Andrea passed away in January at the age of 53 due to a heart attack. Tristan, who is the oldest of Andrea's four sons, has now become Amari's legal guardian as Amari suffers from severe cognitive abilities.
During the episode which aired on Thursday, July 27, Kardashian expressed her belief that God has a plan and doesn't want Thompson to be alone right now. She added that family should be there for each other, especially during tough times. Kardashian and Thompson consider themselves family and plan to be there for each other for the rest of their lives.
Kardashian celebrated Amari's 17th birthday with a special party and shared a sneak peek of the event on Thursday. Posting on Instagram, she expressed her gratitude for having Amari in their lives, calling her an angel. In the photos, Kardashian is seen with Amari, True, her niece Dream, and her mother Kris Jenner. She referred to Amari as one of God's most precious gifts.
