Kelsea Ballerini is not into the idea of joining the Pogues — sorry, Outer Banks fans.
Ballerini, 30, stated at the People's Country Choice Awards on Thursday, September 28, that she believes in the importance of maintaining individual spaces in her relationship with boyfriend Chase Stokes. She emphasized the beauty of being able to support each other as partners. While appearing in Outer Banks may not be a possibility for Ballerini, she expressed openness to potentially collaborating with Stokes, 31, on musical projects.

“Never say never, I guess,” she said, when asked if a song collaboration was on the table to the couple.
Despite Stokes not being present by his girlfriend's side at Thursday's awards show (he did show his support during rehearsals), Ballerini managed to captivate the audience with a sincere rendition of "Mountain With a View." However, certain fans were quick to accuse her of miming her vocals during the performance.
In response, Ballerini took to her Instagram Story to address the allegations. "I want to clarify that if I was lip-synching, my vocals would have been far superior," she clarified. "I believe there was a technical issue with one of the cameras. Thank you for your support and goodnight."
“Mountain With a View” made its debut on February 14 as a track on Ballerini’s Rolling Up the Welcome Mat EP, which chronicles the narrative of her divorce from ex-husband Morgan Evans.

Ballerini announced her and Evans’ split in August 2022 after nearly five years of marriage.
"I have always made an effort to authentically and openly share my life with all of you, while still maintaining some privacy for certain aspects of my personal life," she wrote on Instagram. "I wanted to inform you directly that I am currently going through a divorce, as this information is now public knowledge."
Both Ballerini and Evans, who is 38 years old, found solace in their music during this difficult time. The talented singer, known for her song "Blindsided," has since moved on and is now in a relationship with Stokes, starting in January."
In August, Ballerini demonstrated her successful transition from her divorce by unveiling Rolling Up the Welcome Mat (For Good). Within the reissued EP, the songstress introduced a fresh track called "How Do I Do This?" which she exclusively shared with We in August. The poignant composition revolves around the experience of going on a first date after a breakup – a theme that seemingly alludes to Stokes.

"It's all about venturing into an utterly unfamiliar realm," she clarified to Us. "And personally, I sensed the need to prioritize my own perspective on the significant events of my life before venturing into that realm. That's the second part, the continuation. Initially, I truly wanted to delve into the breakup, to let it stand as a complete entity. And then, if ever I decided to embark on what we're presently doing — Rolling Up the Welcome Mat (For Good) — that would serve as an expansion of the narrative."
She went on to say, "Especially now, I've been in a new relationship for a considerable time, and it hasn't gone unnoticed. Therefore, I believe it's an opportune moment to bring everyone up to speed and shift the focus of the story from the past to the present."
