Kelly Yazdi, Zac Brown's estranged wife, responded openly after he filed for a temporary restraining order. On Sunday, May 19, Yazdi, 32, shared a detailed message on social media in reaction to Brown's legal action.
Yazdi captioned a TikTok video, asserting that not even Zac Brown's wealth, influence, fame, or legal team can suppress her artistic expression or her right to speak out about their divorce, which she has not done publicly yet.
After Brown, 45, requested Yazdi to take down one of her Instagram posts through a legal motion, she remained steadfast in her online presence and activities.
She continued, "I plan to quickly and strongly address his baseless complaint that sharing two poems on my personal social media revealed any 'confidential information' about his business. This does not give the court the right to prevent me from discussing personal matters unrelated to my past work with Zac Brown Collective, Inc."
Yazdi mentioned that she had not originally intended to address the lawsuit, which she deemed "unnecessary" and lacking legal merit.
"I have chosen not to respond publicly to the recent personal attacks made against me by my soon-to-be-ex-husband, who is a well-known celebrity. It seems clear to me that he is the one who has decided to make our private divorce negotiations public in an attempt to paint himself as a victim and prevent me from speaking the truth about our marriage."
In conclusion, I want to make it clear that his tactics will not silence me. I have my own legal representation and I am prepared to share my side of the story in court, where he has needlessly involved me."
Brown took legal action in Georgia on May 17, filing a lawsuit against Yazdi. He requested the removal of a post that he believed had damaged his reputation. According to court documents, the post violated a confidentiality agreement that Yazdi had agreed to during their relationship. Brown specifically asked for an emergency temporary restraining order to have the post taken down from social media.
In a statement to We on Sunday, Brown explained his decision, stating, "After careful consideration, I decided to enforce the agreement we made to keep personal and business matters confidential, and to shield my family from online harassment and speculation." He expressed his desire for privacy and mutual respect as they move forward from their past relationship.
Brown also requested the court to stop Yazdi from spreading any harmful or untrue information about him, his family, or his bandmates. They were married in August 2023 but split up just four months later.
In a statement released in December 2023, they confirmed that they are going through a divorce. Despite the situation, they still have respect for each other. They expressed their well wishes for each other and acknowledged the good times they shared. They also asked for privacy as they deal with this personal matter.
Editor's P/S:
The ongoing legal battle between Zac Brown and his estranged wife, Kelly Yazdi, showcases the complexities of divorce and the power dynamics at play. Yazdi's defiance in the face of Brown's restraining order highlights her determination to speak her truth, despite the potential consequences. The legal arguments surrounding the confidentiality agreement and the alleged breach raise questions about the extent to which personal matters can be suppressed in the public eye.
Furthermore, Yazdi's accusations of Brown's attempt to control the narrative and paint himself as a victim shed light on the manipulative tactics that can be employed in high-profile divorces. The situation serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting the privacy of all parties involved and allowing them to navigate the legal process without undue interference or public scrutiny.
