Princess Kate Middleton's beloved brand, The Vampire's Wife, is unfortunately closing down. Creative director and founder Susie Cave shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday, May 21. She expressed her sadness and gratitude to all the supporters after 10 years of running the brand.
"I want to express my gratitude to my extended family at The Vampire's Wife for their help in creating such beautiful pieces. Words cannot describe how much you all mean to me. I love each and every one of you."
The designer went on to explain the decision to close the label on the company's website, stating, "Despite experiencing growth and positive sales, the changes in the wholesale market have had a significant impact on the brand. With a heavy heart, The Vampire's Wife has decided to cease trading immediately."

Cave founded the company in 2014, naming it after husband Nick Cave’s unfinished novel of the same name. The fashion house quickly became known for its dainty and feminine silhouettes that featured vibrant colors, eye-catching patterns, and memorable details like ruffles and pleats.
Cave explained that there will be a final “physical” sale where fans of the brand can shop pieces from the line for the last time. The sale will take place on Friday, May 24, and will end on Sunday, May 26.

Kate, who is 42 years old, caught everyone's attention in a beautiful pink chiffon dress from the brand during her visit to the Caribbean with Prince William in March 2022. The dress gracefully draped over Kate's body, showcasing billowing sleeves and a flowing skirt.
In a trip to Dublin two years earlier, Kate made headlines when she wore The Vampire Wife's Falconetti Gown. The stunning gown, which shimmered in an emerald hue and featured sheer paneling, was also featured in her and William's official joint portrait unveiled in June 2022.
In addition to Kate, The Vampire’s Wife has been a go-to for Princess Beatrice as well as other stars including Jodie Comer, Cate Blanchett and Ruth Negga.
Editor's P/S:
The closure of The Vampire's Wife is a sad loss for the fashion industry. The brand was known for its unique and feminine designs, which were often worn by celebrities and royalty. Creative director Susie Cave cited changes in the wholesale market as the reason for the closure, which is a reminder of the challenges facing the fashion industry in the current economic climate.
It is particularly disappointing that The Vampire's Wife is closing down, as it was a brand that celebrated femininity and individuality. The brand's designs were often playful and whimsical, and they were always made with high-quality materials and craftsmanship. The brand will be missed by its many fans, and it is hoped that Cave will continue to design in the future.
