Princess Kate Middleton did not attend the Easter church service on Sunday, March 31, with other members of the royal family.
Instead, Kate, along with Prince William and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, chose to spend the holiday together in private. This decision was made due to the Princess of Wales' ongoing battle with cancer.
At the service held at St Georges Chapel in Windsor, England, King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and other members of the royal family were present. King Charles III is currently undergoing cancer treatments as well.
Crowds gathered outside St George’s Chapel in Windsor on Sunday, March 31, eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of the King.
The 75-year-old monarch arrived in his maroon Bentley limousine for the service, looking cheerful as he waved and smiled at the crowds before heading into the chapel.

During the ceremony, the King sat separately from his wife Camilla and other Royals to protect himself from infection.
The service is a yearly custom for the royal family. In April 2023, William, aged 41, and Kate attended with all three of their children at St George’s Chapel in Windsor. The children, dressed in blue outfits that matched their parents' attire, were seen walking hand in hand with William and Kate as they made their way into the church.
This year, things are different for the family of five. Kate had to take a break from royal duties after having surgery on her abdomen in January. Recently, she revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer after the surgery and is now undergoing "preventative chemotherapy."

Kate shared that she was taken aback by the news but highlighted that both she and William have been working to process and handle it privately for the sake of their young family. She kindly requested for some time, space, and privacy as she undergoes treatment and focuses on fully recovering.
Kate found out about her diagnosis in late February. She and William decided to wait until their children were on break for Easter before sharing the news with the world. This way, they could process the information privately before it became public knowledge.
During Kate's health crisis, William, whom she married in April 2011, has been by her side. He is doing his best to support Kate in every possible way. William has been helping the children with their schoolwork and spending quality time with them in the afternoons and evenings.
The children are aware that their mother is unwell and are aware that she is working towards recovery.
Kate was originally planning to go back to work after Easter, but due to her cancer diagnosis, Kensington Palace has announced that she will only resume her official duties once her medical team gives her the green light. Another source mentioned that Kate is uncertain about when she will feel prepared to return to public appearances, but ultimately, the decision is hers to make.
