Beckinsale, who is 50 years old, initially spoke about feeling unwell in a post on March 11. She posted two photos of herself looking emotional, wearing a gown and a large black bow in her hair, while sending birthday wishes to her mother.

In the caption, she wrote, "Happy Easter." Many people left comments expressing their concern, including Gwen Stefani who asked, "What's wrong?!"

Beckinsale has not shared the cause of her hospital visit. She did clarify to a follower that she was not receiving treatment for a condition she had five years ago.

"As I am twisting my guts up to rail at this, she dresses in delicate purple to jauntily complement and has managed not to break a single bone," Beckinsale continued. "No one is stronger, no one terrifies me more in her fragility. Please mind, if you can. Minding helps."
