Karlie Kloss was seen showing her support for her former best friend, Taylor Swift, at the last show of her Eras Tour in Los Angeles. Fans noticed Kloss, 31, taking her seat at SoFi Stadium on August 9, but she chose not to join other celebrities in the VIP tent. Instead, Kloss was spotted sitting in the bleachers, as captured in footage shared on social media. The video zoomed in on the model surrounded by enthusiastic Swift fans who were all dressed up for the special occasion.
Kloss eschewed the trend of concertgoers dressing in outfits inspired by a particular era and instead opted for a white vest and wide-legged jeans, paired with black Adidas sneakers. Although she has not posted any pictures from the concert herself, the end of Swift's first leg of the tour was a star-studded event, with the likes of Emma Stone, Kerry Washington, Adam Sandler, Halsey, Sydney Sweeney, and many others seen entering the stadium on Wednesday night. Some even exchanged friendship bracelets with fans.
Swift, 33, celebrated her sixth L.A. performance with an exciting revelation. Concluding weeks of speculation, the pop icon ultimately affirmed the impending release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version). Notably, she captivated the audience by showcasing stunning new blue ensembles alongside her customary Easter eggs.
Taylor Swift concludes her American leg of the Era's tour with a triumphant sixth sold-out show at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles. In a teasing moment, she acknowledges the significance of the date and reveals her long-awaited surprise: a captivating array of new outfits incorporated into the performance.
Swift gestured towards the screen behind her as the album cover for her fourth rerecording materialized. The surprise reveal took place during the acoustic segment of her performance, where she delighted fans by performing a rendition of the bonus track "New Romantics" from the 1989 album. Prior to that moment, it was the only song from 1989 that had not been performed on the Eras Tour.
In October 2014, Swift released 1989, a significant departure from her country roots, during the peak of her friendship with Kloss. While embarking on the pop album tour, Swift frequently invited her close pals, including Kloss, Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, and Gigi Hadid, to join her on stage, forming her beloved "squad."
Fans speculated about a possible rift between Kloss and Swift when Kloss' name was omitted from a shirt worn by Swift in her "Look What You Made Me Do" video, despite Kloss featuring in Swift's "Bad Blood" video. However, rumors of a feud were dispelled in 2017 by an exclusive source who confirmed that the two remained close friends. Despite this, Swift and Kloss were seen together less frequently over the years, leading devoted fans to analyze Swift's song lyrics for any allusions to their relationship. Some theories suggest that Kloss may have served as inspiration for Swift's songs "Gold Rush" and "It's Time to Go" from the album Evermore.
In January 2021, Swift appeared to address the speculation surrounding the bonus track by explaining its meaning. She shared on Instagram, "‘It’s time to go’ is about trusting your instincts when they tell you to move on. You have a sense of it before you even realize it, you know?" This announcement coincided with the release of the deluxe version of her album from 2020.
While neither Swift nor Kloss have directly commented on the state of their friendship, some fans believe that Kloss's association with Scooter Braun may have created a rift between them. In 2019, Kloss and Braun, who is 42 years old, went on a vacation together amidst Swift's ongoing issues with her music rights.
