Kaitlyn Bristowe recently shared her thoughts on struggling with body dysmorphia before a swimsuit photoshoot. The former Bachelorette star, aged 38, admitted on her Instagram Story that she is feeling anxious about the shoot because there will be no editing done on the photos.
"I need to celebrate the small wins," she wrote alongside a photo of junk food. She reflected on how in the past, she would have believed that she needed to eat only air and grilled chicken to prepare. But now, in the present moment, she's thinking, "ugh I love snacks." She emphasized that indulging in these snacks won't transform her body overnight. She acknowledged the importance of working out and nourishing her body, rather than depriving herself, to avoid feeling miserable.
Bristowe admitted that she tends to be hard on herself, regardless of the circumstances. However, she expressed her desire to show love and appreciation for her body, which she works hard to keep strong and healthy.

She added, "I still struggle, but acknowledging growth is a victory. Body dysmorphia is a real challenge."
In recent times, the TV personality has also shared about other struggles she has been facing.
During a recent episode of Bristowe's "Off the Vine" podcast, her cohost Stassi Schroeder inquired if she had ever experienced a loss of her sex drive. Bristowe candidly responded, admitting that at one point, her sex drive had completely disappeared. She even went as far as to say that she had believed she was asexual.
When Schroeder asked whether this occurred to Bristowe during a romance, she said that it occurred “at the end” of a relationship.

Kaitlyn Bristowe from Gotham/FilmMagic shared that she had a moment of realization where she thought she could see herself being with a woman more than a man. She expressed that she understands and finds women attractive, acknowledging that it is something she could see herself exploring.
After dating a few men, Bristowe noticed a change in herself. She recalled feeling a new urge and thinking, "Ooh, I kinda would like to hook up." Reflecting on this, she felt proud because she realized she was not feeling "like a desert down there."
Bristowe first appeared on Bachelor Nation during The Bachelor's 19th season in 2015, competing for Chris Soules' affection. Although she didn't receive the final rose from Soules, she later became one of the dual leads in Season 11 of The Bachelorette alongside Britt Nilsson. Bristowe won the lead title after the male contestants voted for her to continue.
After her time on the show, Bristowe got engaged to Shawn Booth, with whom she was in a relationship for three years. Unfortunately, the engagement ended in November 2018. Following the breakup, Bristowe started dating Jason Tartick, a former Bachelorette contestant, in January 2019. However, their engagement ended in August 2023, two years after they got engaged.
