Julianne Hough Seeks Prayers Amid Sister-In-Law Hayley Erbert’s Emergency Surgery

Julianne Hough is requesting prayers for her sister-in-law Hayley Erbert. Posting on Instagram on Thursday, December 7, the 35-year-old shared her brother Derek Hough’s update about Erbert's recent emergency surgery.
"Please send your prayers, love, healing, and light to Hayley and Derek," Julianne wrote in the caption of the Story. "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, from our families to yours! ❤️."
Earlier on Thursday, Derek, 38, who married Erbert, 29, in August, had shared the original post.
“Following last night’s tour performance in Washington, D.C., my wife Hayley suffered from disorientation and was immediately taken to the hospital,” he wrote. “After diagnosis, it was determined that she had a cranial hematoma caused by a burst blood vessel, necessitating an emergency craniectomy.”

Derek expressed that Erbert is now in a "stable condition" and expressed gratitude to the first responders and medical professionals who have been caring for his wife. He also requested prayers and positivity during this challenging time.
Multiple members of Derek and Erbert’s Dancing With the Stars community expressed their support in the comments. Julianne’s DWTS cohost Alfonso Ribeiro wrote, "Sending you all the love I have in my soul. Prayers for a speedy recovery."
DWTS pro Alan Bersten chimed in: “Praying and sending positivity .”
Sasha Farber, for his part, sent a series of heart and prayer hand emojis.
Erbert's health scare occurred after she and Derek performed together at the D.C. stop of his Symphony of Dance tour on Wednesday, December 6. Meghan Trainor, who was in the audience, praised Erbert's performance and expressed concern for her well-being in a comment on Derek's post.
"The show was absolutely amazing... Hayley was fabulous... I am so sorry this happened," Trainor, 29, wrote. "We were sad to not see her at the end of the show. I had a feeling something happened... Many prayers and sending love ️️️."
One year before Erbert's health scare, the So You Think You Can Dance alum shared that she and Derek were in a car accident on icy roads. "We have so much to be grateful for," Erbert wrote on Instagram in December 2022. "I walked away with only a few injuries and a reminder of how fragile life is and the importance of loving those around you."
Derek commented on Instagram that Erbert couldn't recall anything from the accident. "She seemed dazed at first, remaining upbeat and suggesting we continue with dinner as blood streamed down her face. That really frightened me," he stated. "It wasn't until 20 minutes later when the firefighters arrived that she regained consciousness."

Derek and Erbert began their relationship in 2015, a year after meeting on Derek’s Move Live Tour. They announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post in June 2022 with the caption, “It’s only the beginning… the beginning of forever️.”
