John Stamos Opens Up About Being Overwhelmed by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos' Unending Tales of Passion

John Stamos thinks Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos should keep the more NSFW details of their relationship private.

During the episode of Live with Kelly and Mark on Monday, October 23, 60-year-old Stamos expressed his frustration with the couple's constant public displays of affection. He jokingly remarked that they were making all men in the United States look bad, especially addressing 52-year-old Consuelos directly. In response, 53-year-old Ripa humorously questioned Stamos about his own sex life, to which he assured her that he was still ready and willing, albeit not as frequently as Consuelos. It is worth noting that Stamos is now married to Caitlin McHugh and they have a five-year-old son named Billy. Prior to this marriage, he was married to Rebecca Romijn from 1998 to 2005.

Ripa and Consuelos, who have been married since 1996, have been making steamy comments on air and grabbing headlines in recent months. During a discussion about the dating show Naked Attraction, where contestants choose their romantic partners based on their naked bodies, the cohosts pondered whether their own relationship would have thrived on such a program.

"I fell in love with you right here," Consuelos declared on Live last month, pointing at Ripa's face. "Then my eyes wandered to other things. Nice shoes." Ripa playfully expressed her desire to travel back 28 years, to a time when "gravity hadn't taken its full toll." Despite these humorous comments, both confirmed that they would still choose each other based on physical attributes.

"You know, I may have overlooked everything else and focused solely on the feet," Ripa jokingly told her husband. "It's incredible how many wonderful qualities you have, but those feet are quite hard to ignore."

Earlier this year, the couple admitted that they enjoy making their children - Michael, 26, Lola, 22, and Joaquin, 20 - feel uncomfortable by engaging in public displays of affection. "We pretend to French kiss because it grosses them out," Ripa revealed during a May episode of Live. She further clarified that they never actually engage in such displays in front of their children, but merely pretend for comedic effect.

Consuelos, who hailed from European ancestry, credited their fondness for kissing to their heritage. "Among my favorites is the French kiss. Actually, it's one that our kids really enjoy when we engage in it," quipped the Riverdale actor. "They absolutely love it."

In the same month, Ripa found herself in fits of laughter when Consuelos' crotch was blurred out in a Live video featuring his recent trip to Campobasso, Italy. Consuelos had injured his leg while playing soccer and was requested to autograph and take photos with fans while seated in the stadium's treatment room, clad only in his underwear.

The couple is no stranger to openly sharing their most risqué sexual anecdotes. During a June 2019 episode of Live, Ripa divulged that her daughter Lola walked in on them engaging in sexual activity on her 18th birthday, and they even made eye contact during the awkward encounter.

"Ripa recounted Lola's words as she closed the door, expressing gratitude for ruining her birthday and life, as well as the loss of her once vibrant perspective, now replaced with a gray outlook. Consuelos added that their daughter branded them as 'disgusting' and urged them to 'relax.'"

During a September 2022 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Ripa admitted to engaging in sexual activity at Andy Cohen's vacation home in Fire Island, New York. She clarified to Cohen, aged 55, that it was a rental property and not a personal space being violated.
