Joey King responds to Jacob Elordi's unfavorable critique of the Kissing Booth movies

Joey King hits back at Jacob Elordi's 'unfortunate' remarks on Netflix's Kissing Booth trilogy, defending the popular franchise

Joey King has fired back at her ex-costar Jacob Elordi's "unfortunate" criticism of the popular Kissing Booth trilogy on Netflix. The trilogy was a massive hit, drawing in numerous fans with its tale of forbidden love between Elle (Joey King) and her best friend's older brother Noah (Jacob Elordi).

While filming, the main actor's on-screen love story led to a real-life romance, but by November 2018, gossip started spreading that they had split up.

Recently, King has reacted to her ex-partner's negative remarks about the movie that was the beginning of their relationship.

Elrodi’s rise to fame can be attributed to the Kissing Booth trilogy, but he revealed to GQ’s Men of the Year, “I never intended to be a part of those films. They're absurd and not relatable to everyone. They simply provide an escape.”

Elrodi's former costar, King, expressed disagreement with his disdain. At Balenciaga's Saturday fashion show in Los Angeles, she told Variety, "I think it's unfortunate anyone would feel that way."

She added, "I had a great time making those movies no matter what anyone says."

Taylor Zakhar Perez, another actor from the second and third movies, also expressed disappointment in Elrodi's feelings, telling Variety he thought it was a "shame."

"At the time those movies were released, it was a period when something like that was really necessary," Perez stated. "From our interactions with fans, being approached everywhere I go, I realize the significance of Kissing Booth to people and how it brought them joy during such a difficult time. I suppose the positive aspect is that it still brought laughter and uplifted people's spirits."

Elrodi has clarified his feelings about the Kissing Booth trilogy, stating that he is "incredibly grateful to everybody in it" despite his previous co-star's comments. Stay updated with the latest TV and movie news on our page.

Joey King's response to Jacob Elordi's unfavorable critique of the Kissing Booth movies is understandable and justified. Elordi's comments were indeed unfortunate, as the Kissing Booth trilogy was a massive hit and brought joy to many fans. King's defense of the movies shows her passion and dedication to the project, and her positive attitude is admirable.

Taylor Zakhar Perez's comments also highlight the importance of the Kissing Booth movies and their impact on fans. Despite Elordi's negative opinion, it is clear that the movies were a positive force for many people and brought them joy during a difficult time. Elordi's clarification of his feelings is appreciated, but it does not change the fact that his initial comments were hurtful and dismissive of the hard work and dedication of the cast and crew of the Kissing Booth movies.
