King was playing the role of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, and Piet was a director and co-executive producer on the show. The limited series premiered on Hulu the next year.

King and Piet waited about a year before taking their relationship to the next level. Ever since King started sharing photos of them on social media in November 2019, they have become one of Hollywood's favorite couples.

After nearly two years of being together during the COVID-19 pandemic, King shared on Instagram that Piet proposed to her on February 22, 2022. The caption was filled with love and heartfelt emotions.

The couple was seen cuddling while enjoying a movie at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.

In a later event, King and Piet took a group photo together on the red carpet at an Emmys party.

November 2019

King posted a carousel of photos via Instagram from a day at Disneyland with a group of friends, including Piet.

February 2020

In February 2020, King and Piet went to Paris Fashion Week before the pandemic struck in March. Shortly after, they shared on Instagram that they were quarantining together, calling themselves the "Quaranteam."

February 2022

The Kissing Booth actress revealed that Piet proposed to her on February 22, 2022, sharing the exciting news in an emotional Instagram tribute to her then-fiancé.

"I never realized how happiness could be so strong that it literally takes your breath away, filling every part of you with such overwhelming joy that tears of happiness start to flow," she wrote alongside a series of sweet photos from Piet's proposal. "I never knew that someone's presence and love could make you feel like you've found your true home. I never knew that love could be so undeniably beautiful. I never knew until I met you."

King and Piet tied the knot in front of family and friends in an intimate wedding in Mallorca, Spain.

February 2024

King later shared that ahead of their nuptials abroad, the couple legally wed in California.

In March 2024, she reminisced about a memorable event that took place on August 19th, 2023. She shared the story on Instagram, recalling how she and Steven had to legally marry in the states before their wedding in Mallorca the following month. They turned the occasion into a fun celebration by dressing up in stylish outfits, gathering family members, visiting Same Day Marriage in Los Angeles, going bowling, and having a party. King expressed her joy about married life with Piet in March 2024. She mentioned that not much has changed since they already lived together before tying the knot. In an interview with Extra, she shared that everything feels a little bit sweeter now that they are married.

King added, “Your day to day doesn’t really change that much, but there is, like, a feeling about it that is different and it’s, like, a really lovely feeling.”
