Joao Palhinha's transfer to Bayern Munich fell through on Deadline Day, resulting in his decision to remain at Fulham. Following Fulham's approval, the Portugal midfielder had traveled to Germany for a medical examination.
However, Fulham was unable to secure a substitute for Palhinha before the closure of the German transfer window at 5pm UK time. Despite the offer from Bayern, the Cottagers fought fiercely to retain the 28-year-old as he holds significant importance to the team.
The failure of the Palhinha deal has no effect on Ryan Gravenberch's transfer from Bayern Munich to Liverpool since both transfers were independent of each other. Fulham acquired Palhinha from Sporting Lisbon for £17m last year, and he still has four years remaining on his contract, with an additional option for another 12 months.
