Golden Globes host Jo Koy appeared unfazed by Taylor Swift’s now-viral reaction to his NFL-inspired monologue joke.
"Aww, it was adorable. I was just trying to say that it was cute," Koy, 52, explained to Entertainment Tonight after the ceremony on Sunday, January 7. "I was just suggesting that there should be fewer cutaways, that's all."
During Sunday's awards show, Swift, 34, gained attention when cameras focused on her as Koy mentioned her relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce.
"The main distinction between the Golden Globes and the NFL? At the Golden Globes, there are fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift. I promise," Koy remarked. "There's just more to see." Swift maintained a serious expression as she took a sip of her drink, seemingly unimpressed by Koy's joke. Keleigh Teller, one of Swift's close friends who attended the event with her, raised her drink in support.
Swift attended the Golden Globes solo while Kelce, 34, was also in Los Angeles as his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, played the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium on Sunday. The Chiefs won 13-12, but Kelce did not play due to a coaching decision.
At the Golden Globes, Swift was nominated in the new Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category for her Eras Tour concert movie. The movie was nominated alongside Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Barbie. Ultimately, Barbie took home the award.
Despite experiencing a loss, Swift graciously led a standing ovation as Margot Robbie accepted the award for her Barbie cast. Fans, as always, were captivated by Swift's expressions in the audience at the awards show. Viewers were especially interested in her behind-the-scenes conversations with Teller and close friend Selena Gomez, with a viral video showing Gomez approaching Swift and Teller's table for what seemed to be some juicy gossip, speculated by online fans to be about Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.
"'I requested a photo with him and she (Kylie Jenner) declined,' mentioned Selena Gomez," speculated one social media user on X (formerly Twitter), trying to lip-read Gomez. Another perspective of the video showed Teller appearing to say, "With Timothée?" to which Gomez nodded.

Another incredible moment occurred when Emma Stone, a close friend of Swift's, won the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her role in Poor Things. Swift enthusiastically stood and cheered for the 35-year-old actress as she accepted the award.
Stone jokingly remarked on Swift's enthusiasm at the Golden Globes, noting that he has known her for almost 20 years and expressing his happiness that she was there and nominated for an award.
