Jessica Simpson looked every bit the star as she accepted the Icon Award at Footwear News' 37th annual Achievement Awards. The 43-year-old singer and fashion designer dazzled at the event on Wednesday, November 29 at Cipriani South Street in New York City, wearing a glittering sheer dress that highlighted her figure. The floor-length gown included a high neckline and a see-through bodice adorned with jewels, flowing into a fitted skirt embellished with cascading beads.
Simpson wore a sparkly dress with metallic platform sandals, diamond earrings, and long chrome acrylic nails. She had dramatic lashes, heavy eyeliner, and a pink lip for a glamorous look. Her blonde hair was styled in loose curls. She posed on the red carpet both alone and with her mother, Tina Simpson, who wore a black embroidered jumpsuit and a velvet blazer.
Jessica received the Icon Award for her work in music and fashion, specifically in the shoe category with her namesake footwear collection.
Tina Simpson and Jessica Simpson were featured in a November FN cover story, coinciding with a ceremony. Jessica expressed her views on what an icon represents, stating that an icon is someone who fearlessly takes risks, often making choices that may not seem logical at the time, but are part of a larger vision. An icon transcends a specific time or location and defines a particular moment in time.
Jessica's recent achievement marks a significant milestone for her, as she and her mother have regained full control of their shoe brand in 2021 after it was sold to Sequential Brands Group in a $117 million deal in 2015. (Jessica initially founded the label in 2005 as part of the Camuto Group.)
"This is incredibly meaningful to me, having complete ownership of my brand," Jessica stated in 2021. "After 16 years in the industry, I am eager to embrace this next chapter. I am confident that with the support of my mom, our amazing team, and our loyal customers, we can achieve great success."
