Jersey Shore's Sammi Giancola Shocker: The Truth Behind Snooki Social Media Feud

Jersey Shore's Sammi Giancola acknowledges her mistake of blocking Snooki on social media in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly The reality star, known as 'Sweetheart,' opens up about her past beef with Nicole Polizzi, aka Snooki

Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola is offering further insight into her previous feud with her Jersey Shore castmate, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi.

At 36, Sammi chose not to be a part of the revived MTV series, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, in 2018. In an effort to distance herself from her time on Jersey Shore, she temporarily blocked Snooki, who is now 35, on social media. This action was spurred by Sammi's belief that Snooki was stealing her business idea, although she later discovered that this was not the case.

"Sammi expressed that Nicole and I have successfully resolved our conflicts," Sammi revealed exclusively to We on Thursday, August 3, while promoting the premiere of season 6B of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, which airs on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.

Furthermore, Sammi clarified that when Snooki established a store in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, she initially believed that Snooki was engaging in a venture similar to her own Sweetheart Coast storefront on the Ocean City, New Jersey boardwalk. However, she acknowledged that her assumption was incorrect and sincerely apologized to Snooki, recognizing that Snooki had no intention of imitating her.

, will make her much-anticipated return to reality TV in season 6B of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation after an 11-year absence. She emphasized that her choice to distance herself from the friend group for a period of time was a personal decision unrelated to her costars.

“They simply didn't understand my actions. It was a clear case of miscommunication, which will be resolved when we reunite on the show," she explained while expressing that she didn't hold the group responsible for their upset. "I had to eliminate certain aspects from my life in order to progress or take a different path. So, I can understand why they might be upset."

In their interview with Page Six on Tuesday, August 2, Snooki and Jennifer "JWoww" Farley shared their thoughts on the situation. "She took responsibility and I forgave her quickly," JWoww, 37, stated. "We were hurt and confused at the time, but ... we are thrilled to have her back and able to move forward."

Snooki mentioned that she and Sammi had a pleasant discussion regarding their store drama. She emphasized that she does not believe in competing with her friends by opening rival stores. According to her, nobody was copying anyone, and they all have the right to open their own stores. Snooki described the situation as childish.

Aside from reconnecting with Snooki and JWoww, Sammi also crossed paths with her ex-boyfriend Ronnie Ortiz-Magro during the filming of the new season. She confessed to Us that working with Ronnie again was anxiety-inducing, but she felt confident in her ability to handle it.

The pair's relationship spanned from 2009 to 2014, with the OG Jersey Shore capturing their tumultuous ups and downs. In May 2021, Ronnie announced his decision to prioritize his mental health, leading to his temporary departure from the MTV franchise. This came after his arrest and subsequent release on a $100,000 bond following a domestic violence dispute, although he was not ultimately charged with a crime. Ronnie returned to the show in August of the same year.

While Sammi acknowledged Ronnie as "part of the family," she expressed doubt about the possibility of rekindling their friendship. According to her, they are merely coworkers now, with their romantic relationship belonging to their younger years. Sammi emphasized that Ronnie's focus on personal growth and self-improvement is what matters most.

Season 6B of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation premieres Thursday, August 3, on MTV at 8 p.m. ET.
