Jenna Bush Hager had a funny anecdote to share when Hoda Kotb asked her about a past outfit she didn't like. She admitted that she had one outfit that she considers truly hideous and stands the test of time. On the Monday, March 4, episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna, Bush Hager, 42, revealed her fashion faux pas.

Bush Hager shared a photo of herself with her twin sister Barbara Bush and their grandparents George H. W. Bush and Barbara Pierce Bush. They were posing in front of a Christmas tree, with everyone wearing festive red except for Bush Hager.

In the picture, Bush Hager stood out in a long-sleeve mustard yellow shirt paired with a multicolored tie, a high-waisted plaid skirt, and glasses.

“OK, wait I have a question. Everyone’s in red … Did you choose your own outfit?” Kotb, 59, asked.

When Bush Hager confirmed she picked out her look, Kotb said she looked “so cute.”

I recently told my mom this looking back. I mentioned that a tie is not something classic for a woman and won't remain stylish over time," Bush Hager explained. "This photo was taken at a Christmas party at the White House, so it's the kind of picture you'd want to cherish and look back on."

She continued, “And when I look at him, I just think, ‘Who is he?’ Who is that little surfer boy?’ And it’s me.”

Bush Hager shared her frustrations with her mom, Laura Bush, about the outfit she wore to the Christmas party. She mentioned that her mom didn't try to control her and allowed her to express herself freely.

Kotb interrupted Bush Hager to say, "That's what I love."

Bush Hager was just a young child when her grandfather was president from 1989 to 1993. Her father, George W. Bush, later served as president from 2001 to 2009.
