Jason Kelce decided to take a break from football and try his hand at baseball on Saturday, March 30. He had the honor of throwing out the first pitch at the Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves game at Citizens Bank Park.

Accompanied by his wife, Kylie Kelce, and his former Eagles teammate Fletcher Cox, who also recently retired, Kelce made the ceremonial first pitch at the game.

Jason, who is 36 years old, was dressed in a red and white striped Phillies shirt, jeans, and a red baseball cap for the game. He even had the opportunity to sign first baseman Bryce Harper’s cleats before becoming an honorary commentator with NBC Sports.

Kylie, aged 31, was all smiles as she posed with Jason and the Phillies mascot Phanatic during a sunny mom’s day out. She was wearing a white sweatshirt with red Phillies lettering. Kylie and Jason share three daughters: Wyatt (4), Elliotte (3), and Bennett (1).

The Phillies Instagram page shared photos of Jason and Cox, 33, on the mound and posing with players with the caption, "Today’s first pitch: Go Birds forever."

Another caption on Instagram referred to the two former NFL players as "Got a couple legends in the house today."

Jason expressed some nerves about his pitching skills before the throw on Wednesday, March 27, mentioning that his elbow wasn't functioning properly. However, it all worked out in the end.

Despite his initial worries, Jason's pitching performance impressed NBC Philly sports commentators. Comparing it to his brother Travis' pitch at a Cleveland Guardians game in April 2023, Jason's throw was much more successful. Travis had spiked his pitch into the ground halfway to home plate, causing it to bounce back up and nearly hit Guardians pitcher Shane Bieber.

Travis shared his excitement about his experience jumping off Opening Day in Cleveland last year on a recent episode of "New Heights." He recalled being caught off guard when he and Fletcher Cox were told they would be throwing out the first pitch with their mom. Travis admitted he hadn't practiced and was surprised by the sudden opportunity.

During a game on Saturday, Jason and Cox joined MLB announcers in the booth. They were seen cheering on Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto as he hit a solo home run in the 3rd inning. Jason enthusiastically shouted, "Hell yeahhh, baby! There we go, J.T."

The Braves won the game, however, 9-3.
