Jason Kelce's Hilarious Preference: Flip-Flops over Bending for Socks

Jason Kelce addresses his viral game day flip-flops, revealing his preference for comfort over bending down to put on socks A lighthearted moment as he defeats his brother Travis Kelce's team, the Kansas City Chiefs

Jason Kelce expressed confusion at fans' surprise over his choice of footwear, as he donned OluKai flip-flops with a vintage letterman jacket before playing against his brother's team, the Kansas City Chiefs. During a recent podcast episode of "New Heights," the 36-year-old Philadelphia Eagles center addressed the issue.

In the episode, 34-year-old Travis praised Jason's "amazing" game day outfit, which included his Cleveland Heights letterman jacket and flip-flops. They both attended Cleveland Heights High School in Ohio. Jason responded by saying, "I wear flip-flops all the time. I don't even know why this is newsworthy. It's my go-to."

He said, "I hate having to bend down to put on socks. It's much easier to just slide them on and go. I'm only outside for about 10 seconds."

Jason joked, "People ask me, 'How can you stand the cold out there?' and I'm like, 'I was at a hotel. I walked to a bus. Do you think I'm walking through Kansas City in flip flops?! No way!' If I was, I wouldn't be wearing flip flops."

Jason expressed his disbelief, saying, "I find it absurd," as Travis erupted in laughter. Travis then inquired, "You didn't bring any shoes at all?" Jason replied, "Nope. I like to travel light. Just brought a toiletry bag and some sleep shorts."

The Monday, November 20, game ended with the Eagles defeating the Chiefs. The final score was 21-17.

While Jason keeps his game day outfits casual, Travis opts for designer outfits, funky patterns, various textures and more.

"I typically rely on my instincts when choosing an outfit," he told the Wall Street Journal, revealing that it takes him "at least three hours" to put together a look. "I thrive on the creative process of quickly assembling a stylish outfit under pressure."

"Of course, not every outfit will appeal to everyone," he acknowledged. "I don't mind if someone thinks I look like a clown when I wear a fun hat and wild jeans. I just have fun with it." Travis emphasized that he aims to select clothing that will "bring joy to someone's day."

Travis’ former stylist Danielle Salzedo exclusively opened up to We about the tight end’s wardrobe earlier this month.
