Jason Kelce's love for flip-flops may have inspired a look for Taylor Swift's new album artwork, The Tortured Poets Department.

Fans quickly noticed the similarity when a Swiftie shared a picture of the 34-year-old singer wearing sandals with a long black maxi skirt and black tube top, just like Kelce, who is 36 and known for his flip-flop style.

The original poster captioned the snap via X on Saturday, April 20, saying, "not her wearing flip flops in this pic." Swift was styled by Joseph Cassell for her TTPD photo shoot, which was captured by photographer Beth Garrabrant.

Another fan quoted the post on Sunday, April 21, adding, "oh no what did you do @JasonKelce?!"

The former football player enjoyed the post, which is not unexpected since he has a fondness for casual footwear. In a podcast episode from November 2023 called "New Heights," Jason's brother Travis Kelce, who is currently in a relationship with Swift, jokingly mentioned Jason wearing flip-flops before their teams faced off on November 20.

Jason, who used to play in the NFL but has since retired, shared with Travis, 34, that he always wears flip-flops. He mentioned that he doesn't understand why this is considered newsworthy, as they are his favorite choice of footwear.

He further explained that he prefers flip-flops because he dislikes the effort of bending down to put on socks. For him, it's much simpler to just slide on the flip-flops and walk out the door, especially since he spends minimal time outside, typically just around 10 seconds.

Jason couldn’t understand why people were so upset about his choice of warm weather footwear. He explained, “People are like, ‘How could you survive out there in the cold?!’ I’m like, ‘Lady, I was at a hotel. I walked into a bus. Do you think I’m trenching through the city of Kansas City in flip-flops?! No!’ If I was doing that, I wouldn’t wear flip-flops,” as Travis laughed.

Travis then asked, “So you didn’t even pack a pair of shoes?” Jason responded, “No. I pack light. I got a toiletry bag [and] shorts to sleep in.”

Jason surprised everyone by wearing his favorite sandals to the red carpet premiere of his Prime Video documentary Kelce in September 2023, even though he didn't intend to be so casual.

During a fall episode of their podcast, Travis playfully teased Jason for showing up in shorts and flip-flops to the premiere. "You really went all out with your outfit," Travis joked.

Jason explained that he was going to wear jeans, but wife Kylie Kelce was “running late” and “forgot” his pants at home.

“Why didn’t Jason bring jeans for Jason?” Travis asked.

Jason explained that he needed the jeans for after football because he didn't want to wear them all day. He realized that he couldn't blame Kylie for his choice to wear shorts and sandals instead.

Acknowledging that Kylie, as the mother of their three children, had more important tasks to handle, Jason mentioned that she was busy organizing the babysitter, getting herself ready, and ensuring her parents were taken care of for the big night.
