Jaskier has become a fan-favorite character in Netflix's The Witcher, but for those who won't be continuing with the series after season 3, here's what you need to know about the fate of the charismatic bard. While The Witcher is a popular show on Netflix, it has also faced a fair amount of controversy, especially with the changes it has made to the original books, particularly in season 2. Furthermore, the departure of Henry Cavill, who plays Geralt of Rivia, adds to the uncertainty surrounding the show's future. With season 3 serving as Cavill's final appearance as Geralt, it has been treated as a significant event. However, this has also led many viewers to lose interest in what comes next for the series.
In season 2 of The Witcher, it was established that different factions on the Continent were after Ciri. In season 3, Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer are finally united and on the run, attempting to hide and stay safe from those who seek to capture Ciri. Jaskier also plays a significant role in season 3, providing assistance to his newfound family while being pursued by half the Continent. It's worth noting that Jaskier's journey doesn't end with season 3. According to the books, he will continue to be a crucial companion to Liam Hemsworth's Geralt of Rivia in season 4 of The Witcher. However, for those who won't be following the series beyond season 3, this is what happens to Jaskier after this season.
9 Jaskier Joins Geralt’s Search For Ciri After The Thanedd Coup
8 Jaskier & Geralt Come Across Cahir (& He Joins Their Group)
The universe of The Witcher is greatly impacted by the Thanedd Coup, with far-reaching consequences. As Ciri flees and seeks shelter at the Tower of Gulls, Geralt confronts Vilgefortz, a powerful mage. Once again, Vilgefortz extends an invitation to Geralt to join forces, but the witcher adamantly refuses, sparking a fierce battle between them. Regrettably, Vilgefortz proves to be too formidable for Geralt and emerges victorious, leaving the witcher gravely wounded. To aid in his recovery, Geralt is transported to the Brokilon forest, where the caring dryads take charge of nursing him back to health. It is in this serene setting that Geralt is reunited with his companion, Jaskier. Unfortunately, their reunion is clouded by distressing news shared by Jaskier. He reveals that Nilfgaardian invaders have successfully conquered Aedirn, Rivia, and Lyria, marking their triumph over these territories. Additionally, King Foltest of Temeria has formed an alliance with the enigmatic White Flame, further complicating the existing power dynamics. Amidst these troubled times, Francesca Findabair has been appointed as the client queen of Dol Blathanna, serving as an additional source of upheaval in the realm.
During their recovery time in Brokilon, Geralt and Jaskier encounter Milva, an accomplished archer and hunter. She ventures beyond the forest to provide guidance and shelter to scattered bands of Scoia’tael. Although her initial opinion of Geralt is unfavorable, she ultimately decides to accompany the witcher and bard on their journey outside the forest, as they make their way towards Nilfgaard in search of Ciri, hoping to reach her before their adversaries do. However, their path is fraught with challenges, and they unexpectedly cross paths with Cahir, who closely shadows Jaskier, Geralt, and Milva.
Cahir is captured by hawkers and Geralt rescues him, but as Geralt wants nothing to do with him, he abandons him. Despite this, Cahir persists in following the group and eventually joins them thanks to Milva’s intervention. At this point, the group consists of a witcher, a bard, an archer, and a former soldier of Nilfgaard.

Together, they find themselves playing a vital role in the Battle for the Bridge on the Yaruga. This decisive encounter results in Queen Meve's triumph, leading to Geralt's knighthood and his renowned title "of Rivia."
Venturing forth, the group befriends Angoulême, mistaken initially by Geralt to be Ciri. Angoulême, who happens to be the illegitimate daughter of a noblewoman from Cintra, delves into a life of crime, first gathering a band of orphaned children and then joining a criminal organization.

Nightingale, also known as Homer Straggen, is a fearsome and ruthless individual, contracted by Schirrú to eliminate Geralt.
Determined to uncover the truth, Jaskier, Geralt, and their allies join forces with Angoulême, a former member of Nightingale's gang. Together, they orchestrate an ambush, successfully apprehending the gang and unraveling the identity of their secretive employer.

Jaskier maintains his affair with the Duchess of Toussaint while Geralt saves Ciri and Yennefer, resulting in complications for the bard when the Duke discovers his wife's infidelity. In response, the Duke commands that Jaskier be seized with the intention of ripping out his heart, cooking it, and forcing the Duchess to consume it in front of the court. Fortunately for Jaskier, after the successful rescue of Ciri and Yennefer, Vilgefortz's demise, and Geralt's own capture and near-death encounter with the White Flame, he returns to Toussaint with his loved ones and manages to save Jaskier from execution.
