Jana Kramer and Mike Caussin have managed to maintain a friendly relationship even after their public divorce.
In a recent Instagram Story post on Monday, April 15, Kramer, 40, shared her thoughts on co-parenting with her ex-husband. She emphasized the importance of prioritizing love for their children over any negative feelings towards each other.
Kramer clarified that she does not harbor any hatred towards Caussin or anyone else. She believes that life is too short to hold onto grudges or let past grievances affect the present or future. Despite having the option to be resentful and bitter towards her ex-husband, she chooses to focus on moving forward positively.
The couple, consisting of the One Tree Hill alum and Caussin, 37, ended their marriage in April 2021 after being together for almost six years. They have two children together, Jolie, 7, and Jace, 4. Throughout their time together, they shared the ups and downs of their relationship, including Caussin's infidelity, on their podcast, "Whine Down."
Currently, Kramer is now engaged to Allan Russell and is focused on building a blended family with the recent addition of their 5-month-old son, Roman.
"We don't need to bring negativity into this situation, and there's no progress in that," Kramer shared on Instagram Story. "Our past is in the past, but we can still feel frustrated at times. However, we prioritize our children's well-being. I will never speak poorly about their father in front of them. Our past is not something they need to carry, as it only adds unnecessary stress."
"Even though we're not perfect, I'm happy with how we've handled everything," the country singer added. "It's been a team effort from all of us. So, thank you to @M_Caussin and @SuperiorStriker."

After seeing his ex-wife's Instagram Story, Caussin shared his thoughts on how he and Kramer have managed to build a healthy relationship. He believes that it takes effort from everyone involved to maintain peace.
In response to Kramer's post, he wrote on his own Instagram Story, "Well said @KramerGirl, appreciate you. It really does require all parties to be on board. If any of us chose to hold onto hate or negativity, our relationship wouldn't be as strong as it is now."
Caussin expressed his gratitude during Thanksgiving in November, sharing how thankful he was to be in a positive place with his ex-wife. In a photo with Kramer and Russell, 43, he highlighted the strength of their relationship.
Posting on Instagram, the former NFL player mentioned, “I’m incredibly grateful for where @kramergirl and I are at in our relationship.” He emphasized their ability to thrive individually and as co-parents to their children. Caussin also appreciated the presence of Kramer's partner, @superiorstriker, in their lives, increasing his gratitude for the situation.
Reflecting on the family dynamic, Caussin expressed his happiness that their children, Jolie and Jace, have the love and support of three parents who are dedicated to their well-being. As a father, he felt deeply content with the level of care and protection surrounding their family.
