Jamie Foxx made a triumphant return to the stage following a serious health scare earlier this year. While accepting the Vanguard Award at the Critics Choice Association Celebration of Cinema & Television: Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievements event in Los Angeles, Foxx, 55, expressed his gratitude and reflected on his challenges, stating, "I want to thank everybody. I’ve been through something, I’ve been through some things. It’s crazy, I couldn’t [walk on stage] six months ago. I couldn’t actually walk."
Foxx emphasized that he is "not a clone" and expressed gratitude for his health after a hospitalization in April. He shared that the experience was difficult and made him appreciate every moment. He thanked fellow celebrities, the cast and crew of his new movie, and his sister and daughter for their support and prayers during his health crisis.
He expressed a newfound appreciation for life and his art, adding that he found solace in movies and music while facing difficult times. Reflecting on his medical scare six months prior, he shared his disbelief at the situation and expressed gratitude for receiving the Vanguard Award. Back in April, news broke of Foxx's health issue, but his daughter confirmed that he is already in recovery after receiving prompt and excellent medical care. During his hospitalization, his upcoming film continued production with a body double standing in for him.

A month later, Corrine revealed on her Instagram Story that her father had been "out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating." Although Foxx and his family have not officially disclosed what occurred, Mike Tyson stated in May that the Oscar winner had suffered a stroke.
In August, Foxx shared on Instagram that he was starting to feel like himself again and expressed gratitude for the well wishes and prayers he received. He also mentioned that he has a lot of people to thank and that God has been good to him. In September, a source revealed that Foxx's girlfriend, Alyce Huckstepp, has been a significant source of support for him during his recovery, and that she makes him very happy. They prioritize spending time together as much as possible.
Last month, Foxx faced allegations of sexually assaulting a woman while dining at a New York City restaurant in 2015. Legal documents obtained by Us revealed that an unnamed woman has filed a lawsuit against Foxx and Catch NYC & Roof restaurant, seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She claims to have undergone medical treatment and endured pain and emotional distress due to "sexual assault, abuse, assault and battery."

After requesting a photo with her inside the restaurant, the woman alleged that Foxx proceeded to touch her inappropriately. While posing for the picture, he reportedly placed both hands on her waist, then moved them under her top to fondle her breasts. The woman further stated that Foxx then inserted his hands into her pants, touching her vagina and anus with his fingers.

Just a day after the lawsuit was filed, Foxx’s spokesperson denied the allegations. The representative stated on November 23 to Deadline, "The alleged incident never happened. In 2020, this individual filed a nearly identical lawsuit in Brooklyn. That case was dismissed shortly thereafter. The claims are no more viable today than they were then. We are confident they will be dismissed again. And once they are, Mr. Foxx intends to pursue a claim for malicious prosecution against this person and her attorneys for re-filing this frivolous action."
