Jade Roper opened up about her emotional state following a miscarriage in a candid manner.
"I'm doing alright," the 36-year-old wrote on her Instagram story on Monday, October 16. "I recently confided in my manager that I'm weary of dwelling in my period of sadness and desire to heal, but I'm also aware that grieving doesn't operate on our schedule."
The Bachelor in Paradise alum shared that she has observed a pattern of having three or four good days followed by two sad days. She expressed her intention to acknowledge and navigate through these emotions. Roper, who previously mentioned having an intuition about her son's loss before the miscarriage, disclosed that she has been keeping herself occupied with a busy schedule. While she views this as a positive distraction, she is concerned that she may be avoiding confronting her grief.
"But I also find that it replenishes me, so perhaps it serves as a beneficial coping mechanism," she stated. "Additionally, I cherish the moments of cuddling with my children."
Roper, who is married to Tanner Tolbert and together they have three children, revealed in August that she experienced a miscarriage with their fourth child, a son they named Beau. (The couple got married in 2016 after meeting on Bachelor in Paradise season 2 and have welcomed their daughter Emerson in 2017, son Brooks in 2019, and son Reed in 2020.)

"I've been grappling with finding the right words to express my thoughts during this difficult time of navigating a miscarriage," Roper shared. "It seemed as though all my hopes and wishes were coming true, as we joyfully anticipated the arrival of another child to cherish and complete our family. Despite the immense pain and intricate sorrow that have consumed us, we feel grateful for the brief period in which we were able to be touched by his spirit. This experience has forever transformed me." Roper accompanied her heartfelt message with a picture of herself gently holding her growing belly, highlighting that she was still carrying the unborn baby.
"I am currently going through a condition known as a missed miscarriage. Although my baby's heart has stopped and growth has halted for some time, my body has not yet expelled the pregnancy," she explained. "I am hoping for a natural process and placing my trust in the timing and my body, under the care of my healthcare provider."
Unfortunately, Roper was unable to avoid undergoing surgery and ultimately had to undergo the operation later that month after being admitted to the hospital due to a possible infection.
