Ishura Episode 2 and all the latest installments of the series will be streamed exclusively on DisneyPlus, the only OTT platform to license the series for release outside Japan.
A brief recap of Ishura Episode 1: Soujirou the Willow Sword
In addition to Disney+, viewers can access the series on Hulu. However, popular streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and the anime giant Crunchyroll have not yet added Ishura to their extensive libraries.
Episode 2 of Ishura began with the dramatic destruction of the Great Labyrinth Kiyazuna in Nagan, the Labyrinth City, and the unexpected arrival of Golems in scattered groups. The story then turned its attention to Yuno the Distant Talon, who was secretly observing her fellow peer, Lucelles.
Yuno's attempts to secretly stalk Lucelles were not successful, leading Lucelles to ask for Yuno's help in learning Force Arts. As they walked through the city, they spent time together discussing the downfall of the self-proclaimed Demon Lord.
Suddenly, the Great Labyrinth Kiyazuna came to life, transforming into a massive mecha rising from the ground, accompanied by a swarm of Golems that wreaked havoc on the city. Tragically, Lucelles met a painful and horrifying end at the hands of one of the Golems.
Yuno fought to stay alive, but in the end, she succumbed to her grim destiny. Suddenly, a boy called Soujirou the Willow Sword appeared out of nowhere, wielding a worn-out sword and cutting down the Golems surrounding Yuno.
As a follower of Yagyuu Shinkge-ru, who had achieved mastery in the Muto dori technique (the art of unarmed self-defense and turning the attacker's weapon against them), Soujirou triumphed over the colossal metal giant. Afterward, Yuno extended her ration to Soujirou and recommended that he make his way to Auretia.
Yuno assumed that Soujirou was responsible for activating the giant and killing it for entertainment. She speculated that he was simply another belligerent individual who enjoyed battles and disregarded the impact of endangering innocent lives.
What to expect from Ishura Episode 2
Yuno extended an invitation to Soujirou to join him as a guide on the voyage to Auretia. In the closing credits, Soujirou uncovered the revelation that he and Yuno were not the only ones present, as an individual was actively collecting life seals from the Golems.
Get ready for Ishura Episode 2: Alus the Star Runner! The debut of the legendary winged reptile from Auretia is sure to shake things up. According to Keiso’s original light novel series, Alus is a renowned Whyvern champion, known for his collection of powerful relics and weapons. It looks like Soujirou and Yuno are about to have a not-so-friendly encounter with him.
Jun Fukuyama, known for his roles as Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass, Koro-sensei in Assassination Classroom, and Cid Kagenou in The Eminence in Shadow, will be voicing the character Alus. Keep an eye out for further news and updates on the Ishura anime and light novel series as we move through 2024.
Editor's P/S
As a hard fan of the Ishura series, I am eagerly anticipating the release of Episode 2. The first episode left me with a lot of questions and I can't wait to see how the story unfolds. I'm particularly interested in learning more about the world of Ishura and the characters who inhabit it. I'm also curious to see how the anime will adapt the light novel series, which I am a big fan of.
The first episode of Ishura was a great start to the series. It introduced the main characters and set up the conflict that will drive the story forward. The animation was beautiful and the voice acting was top-notch. I especially enjoyed the fight scenes, which were both exciting and well- choreographed. Overall, I am very impressed with Ishura so far and I can't wait to see what happens next.
