Invincible Season 2 is set to release this month, and with the introduction of Omni-Man to Mortal Kombat 1, it seems that more Invincible cameos are on the way. A recent leak suggests that the villain will also be included in Fortnite's next battle pass, expected in December. However, fans have noticed a flaw in Fortnite's depiction of the comic book character. Some argue that Omni-Man's Fortnite model has been toned down, particularly in terms of his rear end. Twitter user DewEnjoyer did a great job of highlighting the differences between Mortal Kombat 1's Omni-Man character and Fortnite's Omni-Man skin.
The leaked Fortnite image reveals a surprising alteration to Omni-Man's typically robust and well-built posterior, which now appears noticeably flattened. This perceived "nerf" to Omni-Man's derriere has sparked humorous reactions from numerous social media users, who have cleverly employed the iconic Godfather GIF of "Look how they massacred my boy," along with comments accusing Fortnite of "stealing his butt."
In a further demonstration, a video showcasing Omni-Man's Fortnite character model showcases him performing a squat emote, emphasizing the significant reduction in his rear end.
Amidst the uproar generated by numerous fans and commentators on social media, Epic's response to the size of the antagonist's posterior remains uncertain (albeit improbable). Make sure to read our Invincible Season 2 review, where Omni-Man's ample derriere continues to leave an impression.
Editor's P/S
As a hard fan of the Invincible comic book series and the recent Amazon Prime adaptation, I have mixed feelings about the portrayal of Omni-Man in the Fortnite skin. On the one hand, I am excited to see the character being featured in such a popular game, and I think the skin overall looks great. The level of detail and the animation are top-notch, and I appreciate the faithfulness to the source material.
On the other hand, I am a bit disappointed by the changes made to Omni-Man's physique, particularly his rear end. In the comics and the show, Omni-Man is known for his powerful and muscular build, and his butt is a significant part of his overall appearance. The Fortnite skin, however, seems to have toned down Omni-Man's backside, making it look smaller and less defined. I understand that certain adjustments may have been necessary to fit the character into the Fortnite aesthetic, but I feel like this change takes away from Omni-Man's iconic look.
Overall, I think the Omni-Man Fortnite skin is a fun and exciting addition to the game, but I would have preferred a more faithful representation of the character's physique. I hope that Epic Games will consider making some adjustments to the skin in the future to address the concerns of fans.
