The cast list for season 6 of The Circle has been revealed, and there is a unique twist this time.
For the first time ever on the Netflix show, an artificial intelligence bot will be participating in the game. The AI will be taking on the persona of a human character named Max.
"We're spicing up the chat this season," host Michelle Buteau hints in the official season 6 trailer. "An A.I. bot is joining in as the ultimate catfish."
According to a November 2023 Tudum article, the ****chatbot has done its homework by analyzing previous seasons of the show and taking cues from past players when crafting a profile. Competitors will meet Max, a 26-year-old veterinary intern, who is actually the A.I. bot flying solo without any help from producers as it maneuvers through the game.
In season 6 of the show premiering on April 17, the ****chatbot is not the only first. One contestant, Kyle, will be playing alongside his furry friend, a dog named Deuce. Kyle, a 31-year-old self-proclaimed "proud dog dad," is set to bring his canine companion into the game, according to Tudum.
The upcoming season, set in Atlanta, Georgia, marks a new location for the show. Previous seasons were filmed in the U.K. Despite the changes, the teaser promises the same exciting elements of the game: "catfish, connections, and chaos."
Since its debut in 2020, The Circle reality competition series has showcased a mix of contestants who either play as themselves or pretend to be someone else. For instance, in Season 2, DeLeesa St. Agathe won by pretending to be her husband, Trevor St. Agathe.
Contestants on The Circle communicate through the Circle chat and regularly rate each other based on their connection. The top-rated players become influencers and have the authority to eliminate other players from the game. In the final round, the player with the highest rating walks away with the $100,000 grand prize.

This unique twist adds a layer of intrigue and unpredictability to the game, as the AI will attempt to mimic human behavior and interact with the other contestants without revealing its true nature. It will be fascinating to see how the AI navigates the social dynamics of the game and whether it can successfully fool the other players.
Beyond the AI addition, the inclusion of a dog in the competition is another fun and unexpected element. The presence of a furry companion will undoubtedly bring a touch of warmth and humor to the show, while also testing the contestants' ability to adapt to a non-human presence in their midst.
