Kody Brown hasn’t been too happy about Christine and Janelle Brown‘s unbreakable bond, hinting that the twosome weren’t always so close.

During the Sunday, November 19 episode of Sister Wives, Christine, 51, and Janelle, 54, came together for a hike. Christine shared with the cameras that she had left Kody a few years ago, while Janelle is currently separated from him. However, they both expressed their commitment to continue being sister wives and maintain their close friendship for the rest of their lives. They also emphasized their dedication to raising their children together and representing the plural aspect of their family.

In contrast, Kody, 54, had a different perspective on their relationship. He mentioned in a confessional that he found it interesting how Christine and Janelle now had a more positive bond, as it had previously been antagonistic. Kody expressed his wish for a better dynamic but believed that they were now united against him and his last wife, Robyn Brown. He felt that they had nothing positive to say about him or Robyn.

Throughout season 18 of Sister Wives, Kody has openly expressed his challenges and experiences with Christine and Janelle. In a September episode, he alleged that they were intentionally excluding him from the discussion surrounding their holiday arrangements.

He stated, "They're discussing it amongst themselves, but not involving me in it. And now they're upset with me... Christine and Janelle are making efforts to undermine my role as the family leader, but I am okay with that."

Christine was the first of Kody's four wives to leave him, announcing their split in November 2021. She relocated to Utah with their youngest daughter, Truely, who is 13 years old, and later found love with her now husband David Woolley. (Along with Truely, Christine and Kody also have a son named Paedon who is 25, as well as daughters Aspyn (28), Mykelti (27), Gwendlyn (21), and Ysabel (20).)

One year following Christine's divorce, Janelle officially announced in December 2022 that she and Kody had been separated for several months. Throughout this season, viewers observed the deterioration of their relationship as the couple engaged in a heated argument. Despite the turmoil, Christine has consistently supported Janelle through it all.

In an episode aired in October, both Christine and Janelle acknowledged that Kody had transitioned towards a monogamous dynamic with his fourth wife, Robyn. (Earlier this year, Kody and Meri Brown had confirmed their separation.)

Janelle remarked that she believes he may have done it some time ago and was simply attempting to fulfill his obligations to his multiple family members. She expressed her lack of concern, stating that it wouldn't bother her if she did care, but she genuinely doesn't. When referring to Kody and Robyn, who are both 45 years old, Janelle jokingly commented, "They can be together."

Sister Wives airs on TLC Sundays at 10 p.m. ET.
