Big Brother is getting a Christmas makeover with the upcoming spinoff Big Brother Reindeer Games.

Julie Chen Moonves revealed the six-episode television event during the conclusion of the Big Brother 25 season finale in November. "It's a fresh take on the game with a new set of rules, as returning legendary BB players vie to be the ultimate survivor," she hinted.

The next day, Chen Moonves announced that the show would introduce entirely new competitions, without any rehashed ideas from the original Big Brother.

"Everything is fair game," she declared in an interview with Taylor Hale, champion of Big Brother 24 and correspondent for Entertainment Tonight. "We could possibly see the birth of new iconic games from this."

The competition series will kick off on CBS Monday, December 11, at 8 p.m. ET.

Who Is Hosting ‘Big Brother Reindeer Games’?

Although Chen Moonves has been the host of every season of Big Brother since the show first aired in 2000, she is allowing some fan-favorite former contestants to take over for Reindeer Games: Derek Xiao and Tiffany Mitchell from Big Brother 23, as well as Big Brother 11 champion Jordan Lloyd.

Nine former Big Brother contestants will compete for a $100,000 prize in the Reindeer Games. The players include Cody Calafiore (from BB16 and BB22), Nicole Franzel (from BB16, BB18 and BB22), Frankie Grande (from BB16), Taylor Hale (from BB24), Cameron Hardin (from BB25), Brittany Haynes (from BB12 and BB14), Josh Martinez (from BB19), Xavier Prather (from BB23) and Danielle Reyes (from BB3 and BB7). The cast features five Big Brother champions (Calafiore, Franzel, Hale, Martinez and Prather) as well as three winners of the America’s Favorite Houseguest prize (Hale, Hardin and Haynes).

What Are the Rules of ‘Big Brother Reindeer Games’?

In Reindeer Games, the process of elimination is different from the traditional Big Brother format. Instead of casting eviction nominations and votes, the show revolves around three competitions per episode, with the final one determining which player will be eliminated.

In another major difference from Big Brother, the Reindeer Games contestants will not live together while shut off from the outside world.

What Is the ‘Big Brother Reindeer Games’ House Like?

The Big Brother house has been turned into Santa's Lodge for the new show, with the kitchen transformed into Mrs. Claus' bakery and the Head of Household room now serving as Santa's Office. The space is adorned with Christmas trees, garland, and neatly wrapped presents, and even features a fireplace with stockings hanging from the mantle for a festive touch.

Throughout the competition, players will visit other locales including the Candy Cane Forest, Santa’s Village and Santa’s Workshop.

Will There Be Live Feeds for ‘Big Brother Reindeer Games’?

Big Brother sets itself apart from other reality shows with its 24/7 live feeds that capture the every move of the houseguests. However, Reindeer Games, being a pretaped show, will not feature live feeds.

What Is the ‘Big Brother Reindeer Games’ Schedule?

New episodes of Big Brother Reindeer Games will air on CBS Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays until the finale on December 21.
