On the latest episode of "The Squeeze" podcast, hosted by Lautner, 31, and his wife Taylor Dome, the actor gratefully acknowledges Swift, 33, for her invitation to feature in her music video for "I Can See You."

Lautner, who dated Swift for four months until December 2009, expressed that the significance conveyed in the video further convinced him of the idea's appeal. As a fan and supporter of Swift, he considers it an honor to contribute to a project that symbolizes her reclaiming of her art. Dome, 26, added that Lautner has consistently shown his support for Swift, both behind closed doors and in public, throughout the years.

"When we filmed our initial two episodes, the music video for 'I Can See You' had not yet been completed," Dome pointed out. "So, when you expressed your willingness to handle the Kanye West situation differently, it wasn't solely because of your involvement in the video. Your feelings were genuine. It's admirable that your support for her goes beyond just collaborating on the video. You have truly been cheering for her and offering your support."

In the music video, Lautner played a role in rescuing Swift from a vault. He displayed impressive martial arts skills to fend off five men, a reference to his 2013 SNL monologue where he expressed regret for not defending Swift when West interrupted her.

Earlier this year, Lautner discussed the well-known incident from the 2009 Video Music Awards where West, 46, stole the spotlight from Swift's Best Female Video win. The rapper caused a stir by interrupting Swift's speech to give a shout-out to Beyoncé.

"Hey, Taylor, I just want to say congratulations, but I have to mention that Beyoncé's 'Single Ladies' had one of the greatest music videos of all time! Absolutely amazing," exclaimed the Yeezy designer, leaving the audience in shock.

In return, Dome effusively praised Lautner's heartfelt remarks about his former partner.
