Taylor Swift owes her long-lasting friendship with Paramore’s Hayley Williams to one special person — mom Andrea Swift.

"[Taylor and I] were attending a Grammy party, specifically Timbaland's Grammy party, which was massive. I was feeling quite nervous, but then a lady approached me and introduced herself as Taylor Swift's mother. She mentioned that Taylor doesn't have many friends her age who are involved in music. She expressed her desire to connect us or exchange contact information." Williams, 34, revealed this during an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, October 5. Earlier that day, Williams' band, Paramore, and Taylor, 33, had both been nominated for Best New Artist at the 2008 awards show but lost to Amy Winehouse.

Jimmy Fallon exclaimed, "I adore Taylor's mom!" praising Andrea's brilliant idea. Williams expressed her gratitude, saying, "Andrea, the amazing person she is. She brought us together."

Since that significant day, Williams and Taylor have developed a close relationship and have worked together on multiple projects. Paramore had the opportunity to be the opening act for Taylor's Eras Tour on a few occasions earlier in the year, and they will join forces again for the second part of the international tour, starting in November.

Paramore also took the stage with Taylor during her Speak Now tour in 2011, delighting fans with their performance of the popular track "That's What You Get." Over a decade later, Taylor enlisted Williams' captivating vocals for a "From the Vault" song called "Castles Crumbling," which is featured on her reimagined album Speak Now (Taylor's Version).

In an Instagram post before the album's July release, Swift shared her reasoning behind collaborating with these artists who had a profound influence on her songwriting during that time. She expressed gratitude to them for their kindness and support in being a part of her version of the album.

In June, news of their collaboration broke, prompting Williams to reflect on the early days of her friendship with Taylor. Taking to Instagram, Williams shared a photo of Taylor roller skating at her 21st birthday party and expressed, “Taylor was the very first industry friend I ever made and hung out with outside of work-related events.” Williams also confessed that when Taylor's album Speak Now was released, she purchased it and listened to the entire album in her first car, parked in her driveway. She further revealed, "It's my favorite Taylor Swift album for numerous reasons."

She expressed her desire to go back to the moment of her 21st birthday and inform her younger self that one day she would rightfully own Speak Now and they would have the opportunity to sing together on one of its songs.

Aside from Williams, Taylor also has other celebrities within her close circle. When it comes to her projects, the Grammy winner frequently asks her A-list friends to contribute their talents. In October 2021, BFF Blake Lively made her directorial debut for Taylor's "I Bet You'll Think About Me" music video following the re-release of Red (Taylor's Version). Additionally, Phoebe Bridgers collaborated on the vault track titled "Nothing New."

Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien, friends, demonstrated their acting skills in Taylor's 2021 short film "All Too Well." Taylor shared in a March 2022 email to Bustle that she had anticipated Dylan's talent for improvisation and adding depth to his character, resulting in a significantly enhanced narrative. She expressed being thoroughly impressed by his performance and feeling fortunate to have gained a wonderful friend through the process.

O'Brien, 32, had nothing but praise for Taylor, commending her for her trust in allowing him and his co-star Sink, 21, to contribute to the creative process.

"Despite her meticulous nature, she showed immense trust in us," he shared. "Everything was meticulously planned to go along with the music, but when we performed the scene with dialogue, Taylor immediately recognized its potential and insisted on including it in the video. Her confidence in identifying that moment on set, and appreciating our contributions, demonstrates her strong understanding of relationships and her instincts."
